montana played in the era of "taking your free shot" at the qb if you got there with one step (that and a bunch of other shit). a great qb is going to be a great qb in any era but the 80's were a brutal decade to a qb.

I get all that, but the defenders of the 80's weren't as big/fast/strong as these guys today. Far more team speed on defense.

Top 5 passers as yards and touchdowns go is all 5 quarterbacks playing in this century, imagine how many more yards and touchdowns Marino would have.

Imagine what these guys today would do to those 1980 defenders.

I think depth was the big problem, the starters were fine, but if any of them went down it got ugly
That's true. Next year with more cap space should be able to add more depth.

Don't care about era/rules the bottom line is no AAFC/NFL/AFL/USFL/CFL/WFL/XFL QB had a more impessive first nine seasons in their career than Russell Wilson.

He started every single game, he won a SB, he had THREE times more TD;s than INT, his 101.1 passer rating the highest ever in those first nine seasons. His rushing yards far superior to any of the great QB's.

There is nobody who did those first nine seasons better than Russell Wilson, no need to try and battle this, just accept reality and give the guy his props.

Russell Wilson in flag football, hmmmm? We had former Bronco WR Michael Young out there, former Steelers DB Lupe Sanchez, former Oregon State RB Darly Minor, former Chargers RB Freddy Ford, we went five seasons before losing a game.

Wilson would be fantastic in flag football, best ever there.

Aaron Rodgers

Not going to do the numbers thing, (31) because of that waiting game he played, if he had started day one like Wilson I do think he would be the one with the best nine seasons, but........it is what it is. And part of this Wilson thing is how he walked right in and took over.

There is no QB out there who scorec more than 49 points, trust me!

Wilson is the only QB in history to ever have a 4000/30/500 season and he has hd two of them. Most wins by a QB with nine seasons. Best passer rating ever with just nine seasons, best TD/INT. Cat is a stud, why fight it?

Dude, Montana played in 30 games less, made less pro bowls, worst comp %, less yards, inferior TD/INT, inferior passr rating, inferior rushing yards.

What in the hell are you talking about?

You know football, hahahaha!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Tom Brady sat on a bench and like Montana all his stats are inferior to what Wilson did. Brady played in 32 less games than Wilson.

Dude, stop, you are looking bad, ok?
Playing less games makes no difference in the question you asked. Pro bowls have been discussed that they are irrelevant to your question. Worst completion percentage is another pointless argument you have made. TD/INT ratio is a good one, but you would have to understand football to understand Russell Wilson’s TD/INT is impressive on paper only.

You don’t have a single argument outside of rushing yards as to why Brady and Montana were far superior to a QB who walked into the best defense in the league and had 5 pass plays to execute.

About had enought of your.....understand football.....BS guy, seen far more football than you have, ok?

Stop with this silly, pro bowls don't count, comp% don't count, if you knew the game then you'd know no QB we have seen was more impressive than Wilson in those first nine seasons, being you don't get any of this you can't figure that out either.

I showed you how far Wilson was superior to all these guys, stop ignoring facts it;s annoying.

Tom Brady only had....ONE....passer rating over 100 his first nine seasons, Wilson had....SIX!

What about this don't you get?

Wilson currently sits at 93 wins in his regular-season career in the NFL.

The MVP contender this season also passed another winning milestone tonight. Wilson passed Tom Brady to become the NFL’s all-time winningest quarterback in a player’s first nine seasons, including the postseason, with 102.

If there is one thing Wilson knows how to do, it's win football games.

This is news to you isn;t it.....

Russell Wilson has the highest 4th-quarter passer rating (109.6) since 1991 among quarterbacks with 500 or more attempts. In 2017, Wilson finished the season with a 134.1 4th-quarter passer rating. The Seahawks have a +269 point differential in the fourth quarter since 2012, the best in the NFL.

How about....

Perhaps what is most notable is Wilson’s 15-3 career record in December, tied with Tom Brady for the highest winning percentage in the month since 1991.

Another indicator that Wilson is going to have a big month is the fact that the Seahawks have two prime-time games in the last five weeks. While we discussed yesterday how Wilson fared at home in Sunday night games, his overall numbers in prime-time games are vastly better.

In his career, Wilson is 14-3-1 in prime-time games (on the road and at home). In those 18 games he has 32 touchdowns, seven interceptions and a passer rating of 106.5. He’s 7-1 at home in prime-time, throwing for 16 touchdowns, three interceptions and posting a rating of 110.7.

I guarantee you you haven’t seen Russell Wilson the way Seahawks fans have...so strike one.

Pro bowls do not count as a pro argument because half the league gets in. So not it isn’t an argument.

Completion percentage would generally be a solid argument but with Russell Wilson it doesn’t. He has 5 passes he can even throw and all of them are high percentage passes. That is why the Super Bowl pick was idiotic because it is a pass Russell Wilson does not do.

You can knock Tom Brady for not having 100 passer ratings but then in your next argument argue Russell is the GOAT of 9 years because of wins. Russell won a Super Bowl when he was third banana, then when it was his time to shine he threw a pick that is shown during every super bowl since. Then his stats have gone off the charts because of stretches of MVP ball then backup QB ball. And the team struggles when he does his goodstretches.

93 wins, ok cute. We’ve already discussed this. He had arguably the best sustained defense in NFL history (yes over the Steel Curtain) and he would have more wins if he would pass less.

This why I know you don’t understand football. A guy receiving zero votes for MVP is not a MVP candidate. He is discussion from fans.

You say all he knows is to win, he is solid as a regular season QB for sure. He plays like dog shit in the playoffs since he forced the LOB out the door. Still waiting on your 2014 NFC championship game rebuttal when his punter was the better QB in that game.

No half the league doesn't make the pro bowl, that is totally wrong. Yes pro bowls count!

Yes comp % matters with Wilson like it does with everyone else. cool that silliness.

Brady has less of everything, what about that don't you undrstand...

less starts
inferior comp%
inferior TD/INT
less yards
inferior passer rating
rushing....haha!!!

Dude, you watch football, really?

Plays like shit in the playoffs, that right that tells me you haven't a clue.

Brady in playoffs passer rating....90.4, Wilson...95.3

These QB's are only as good as their coaches and their system.

However the coaches that allow the their QB's to preform on their own ability will allow those QB's to be elite.

Coach Carrol doesn't mold Russell into a a QB that he wants but allows Russell to mold himself into his ability.

I want to say coach Carrol has made Russell great.
