Now the Matt Garza signing looks so much more vital. I'm thinking JD could predict the future.

Predicting? Would certainly think so. Garza or his equal is almost a certainty. Harry may not be back and that will require lots of attention. Having said that, 1-4 as it stands today is very promising. #5 may
need some help if Ogando doesn't pick it up. Colby is on everybody's wish list so things may work out just fine. BP is very solid.

What we have now is pretty solid. Ogando is the only wild card IMHO. Perez proved to me that he was not in the same class as Grimm and Tepesch in that they had a solid start but once exposed fell apart. Perez did well in his first "real" start against the Cards, then had a couple of rough outings and then came back again.

Harry should be back next year without issue. It's just a matter of keeping him from doing more damage due to substitution and poor mechanics due to weakness. It's just a time and strengthening issue.

Should we make a run this offseason at this latest Cuban defector- Abreu (sp?) ?? Big bat , 1B, apparently pretty decent defense - may cost $60 m...at least?

My first thought is "absolutely"! But, we have Garza to sign, as well as Cotts, AJ, maybe Nathan, maybe Cruz. Do we have enough money to sign all these people??

Did anyone look at ESPN's web site today? They have a pic of the effing Yankees, and NO headline concerning the game Yu had! 11 HL listed, and not one word on a 1 hitter with 15 Ks! I understand it was the disAstros, but still! Hell, the Yanks won 2-1 over the horrid Angels. No respect!

Guys ... for what must be the 100th time ... ESPN is the local sports network serving the Southern Maine to Philadelphia media market. That market accounts for 85% of their revenue. It's not that they don't care what TEX and HOU did yesterday ... it's that the folks who live between Southern Maine and Philadelphia don't care.
