Who is the primary DH?
The impression I get is Garver when he isn't catching and the rest of the time filled by committee just like last year...

Some folks like full time DHs but that limits the team options on how to give regular position players time off and UTILs playing time...

I don't think they like their backup catcher to DH on any kind of a regular basis. They did that some when they had 3 catchers on the roster later in the year, but not much with just 2 on the roster.

For a long time last year, I think Garver was the primary DH when he couldn't catch.

The offense would certainly be helped by a regular DH who can hit well.

As of now I feel like they will go with Heim, Garver and Huff at DH/C
Get each one about 400 or so plate appearances. Rotate them through

That seems like a good way to limit the offense. If less offensive production is the goal then I guess that works.

If it was me?
I would get Reynolds & Benintendi or Benintendi and another guy like Conforto/Drury and use those 2 with Adolis and Leody to shuffle through the OF and DH.
I would trade Huff, Duran, Smith, Winn & Roby

It’s usually not difficult to find a guy who can really hit, but sucks at fielding. That’s what Willie Calhoun was expected to be on the low end and he couldn’t even really do that.

Justin Turner would be a good option for DH.
He could also fill in at 3B Incase Jung gets injured or really struggles the first half

Lol. Big difference between current reality, likely reality and dream reality

Do think Garver is pegged for some work DH 1B and catcher. Is this ideal! Don’t know but would hope and expect him to be better. Do agree if Huff is not on 26 man they need a DH or better yet a 1B and our Lowe to DH

Alright, let’s trade for Reynolds $7 mil and Bednar
Sign Justin Turner $12
Sign Matt Moore $5

This would still keep the team under the $233 million threshold
Bullpen would be solid
LF would be solid
DH would be solid

"Understanding the direction, the trajectory of the team, the organization, the way they viewed me as a pitcher -- they understood who I am, what I do, what I do well, but also understood what I want to do better and how they can help me do that. For me, that was a huge part of [choosing the Rangers]," Heaney said.

"We set out this offseason to improve our starting pitching," said Texas general manager Chris Young, who presented Heaney with a No. 44 Rangers jersey. "We feel like at this point, going into the end of 2022 and the beginning of 2023, that we have accomplished that by adding Jacob and obviously Andrew, Martín, Jake Odorizzi. We feel very good about where we are as an organization in addressing a big area of need, and we couldn't be more happy that Andrew has chosen to be a member of the Texas Rangers."

From MLB Pipeline's first mock draft:

4. Rangers: Paul Skenes, RHP, LSU
The last two years picking this high, the Rangers went with college arms in Jack Leiter and Kumar Rocker. Skenes, who transferred from Air Force and got scouts in Louisiana buzzing with his work in fall ball, could make it three in a row with his power repertoire.
