I'm stopping here because these two are a lock for the 1/2 spots It's for starters 3 thru 5 where the plot thickens.
3a. Gonzalez?
3b. Cease?
3c. Lopez?
3d. Kopech?
3e. Covey?
I placed these five in what might be the remaining order, at least going into Spring Training. Assuming there are no injuries in camp, I think Gio will likely get slotted in at #3. I'm guessing Cease and Lopez will have to pitch their way out of the rotation, otherwise they should clock in at the 4 & 5 spots, with either pitcher being interchangeable there. We're all rooting for Kopech, but they're going to go easy on him and maybe not even bring him north when camp breaks. Covey, if he's even going to remain on the roster, should get a shot at making the rotation, but I see him heading to the pen, perhaps in the long reliever role. And notice no Rodon at all? That's because there's virtually no chance at all with him being ready by the season's start.
