Once my brewing notebook gets to me, I'm going to start a beer recipes thread. It'll be awesome.

Definitely something I would be interested in as I set out to try adding different hops and steeping grains. Especially some good fall seasonal recipes so they'll be ready by the holidays.

Use kosher salt to rim glasses and serve on the rocks or blend with ice if you like it that way.

edit: some people add 12 oz water by why dilute the alcohol?

Not an elaborate recipe, but I made a good meatloaf the other week.

Pretty much make a meatloaf like you normally would, but I add about 1/4-1/2 cup of ketchup (depending on how much you're making) to the meat before baking to keep it moist. I wrap the loaf in bacon and roll it in parchment paper and aluminum foil. Bake for 30 minutes. Remove paper and foil and bake for another 30 minutes to allow the bacon to crisp up.

It was AWESOME!

Chicken and Sausage Gumbo

1 pkg of boneless, skinless chicken breasts ( usually in a 3 or 4 breasts)
Salt, thyme, pepper, Tony’s, touch of cayenne pepper
½ to l pound of andouille sausage sliced
2 cups of okra chopped (optional) I don’t put okra in my C&S
1 bell pepper chopped
3 pods of garlic chopped
1 large onion chopped
2 tomatoes, fresh or canned

Roux:
3 tablespoons oil
3 tablespoons flour
2 cans chicken stock or a bouillon cube (Optional to taste)(or ready made roux can be used.) I have used cans of roasted garlic chicken broth.

Cook chicken in water with salt, pepper, and cayenne until tender. Remove meat from pot. Chicken can be cut up into smaller pieces or shredded. Save stock In large pot sauté sausage. Remove from pot , If you are using Okra, sauté okra, bell pepper, garlic, onion in sausage drippings. Stir frequently to prevent burning or sticking. When tender, add tomatoes that have been pureed in blender or finely chopped. Let this simmer 15 minutes, stirring frequently. Add chicken and stock Let gumbo mixture simmer. The roux is made in a small pan, preferably cast iron or a heavy pot. Heat oil over medium heat until it is just about to smoke. Add flour, stirring constantly. Be careful not to burn roux. When roux is done to a dark brown, remove from heat and let cool 5 minutes. Slowly add 1 cup of hot chicken stock, stirring so it won’t lump. Fill chicken stock can with water and add to gumbo, twice. Simmer 1-2 hours to let those flavors mix. Enjoy This serves 12. Serve over white rice.

Then it ain't gumbo as far as I'm concerned, it's just another soup missing a key ingredient.

what the hell do you know about gumbo?

LOL. Are you really going to argue with people from Louisiana about proper gumbo? You watch the Food Channel too much. Emiril is from Massachusetts.
