I hope this hasn't been done before, because if it has, I missed out on a lot of good food, but I have observed that a lot of Hooplans have some skill in the kitchen. What are you favorite recipes you want to share with the SportsHoopla masses?

I'll post mine later, once I locate the file.

Shoot all mine are on the old computer. Started a database about 15 years ago in MS Works and they're still there. Have not found away to move them to a newer database without reentering them by hand. Sheesh. Oh well, remote connection to the XP machine tomorrow and it'll be a snap.

My recipe's on my other computer, too, but it'll be a much simpler transfer than yours, I think, since it's just four years old.

Here we go. Hagymaleves. This recipe feeds 10.

5 chopped onions
2 cans vegetable broth (or one carton of the “boxed” kind)
Butter
1 tbsp flour
1 cup white cooking wine
Paprika (about 3 tsp)
Salt & pepper (to taste)
Red pepper flakes (I barely used any)
“small thing of cream” till color is right (I used a pint)
Baguette, sliced
White cheese (I just used white American but mozzarella or provolone would also be good)

In the bottom of a big pot, sautée the onions until glassy
Add wine and flour to thicken
Add vegetable broth and let simmer for 30 minutes
Add cream and seasonings to taste and simmer for 10 minutes
Toast baguette slices with cheese on top
Serve in bowls with a baguette slice floating on top

Once my brewing notebook gets to me, I'm going to start a beer recipes thread. It'll be awesome.

Cherry Bombs

When Bing Cherries are in season..

Fill Ball/Mason canning jars with them (stems attached) and cover with any type of rum. I prefer your fruity rums (mango) that Parrot Bay make. Put the lids on and put in the back of the fridge for a couple of months. I make a dozen or so jars to give to friends at Xmas time.

Standing rule!! If you want another batch next year..Return the jar.

Sure does. Simple recipe, but it's my best yet.

My best recipe also tastes like grapefruit. I used Chinook hops in that one with the Cascade instead of the other ones you used. I don't remember what malts I used, though, and that's why I need my notebook.
