Because Marvel doesn't own Spidey. Sony Does.

And of course, we will have to see how Infinity Wars and her own stand alone movie does before we know for fact that she will become the new centerpiece. If that doesn't work, maybe they will change and make the F4 the centerpiece group...

But, in the same vein, F4 can't be the centerpiece either, because Marvel doesn't own F4. Fox does, and is still refusing to give it up despite the failure of their most recent F4.

But trying to elevate a B level villain?

But apparently when you don't own Xmen, FF or Spidey, and you already SJWed your other big guns (Iron Man and Thor) you don't have as much out there to work with.

They should probably take another crack at Punisher FWIW, but with Netflix that probably won't happen.

Good point on F4 being owned by Fox. Marvel has also killed F4 in the comics BECAUSE Fox owns the movie rights.

But there have been so many rumors about a Marvel/Fox marriage in recent years (F4 reverting back to Marvel, MCU and X-verse merging, etc) that I could see an F4-centered MCU before I see a Spidey-centered MCU.

Besides, there are already rumors that Homecoming 2 will reside outside the MCU.

The genesis of Louis came, I think, from before the real character shift from Ck/SM to SM/CK. In the early days of Supes, even though he was an alien, he was still Clark Kent first, Superman second. Superman was the mask. More recently, the shift was made to where Clark was the mask. Louis as a love interest worked when he was Clark. Once he became Supes, it made sense to have his personal life reflect that subtle change.

Early reviews for Spider-Man: Homecoming are that the movie is very good!

With 78 reviews, 92% on Rotten Tomatoes!

It's currently sitting at 91% with 104 critic reviews.

As long as it doesn't tie or break my beloved "Spider-Man 2" 's (5/5 stars) record for Spider-Man live action films on Rotten Tomatoes of 94%, I'll be happy. But I do really hope this one is good. I should be seeing it this weekend, either at the mall or again at the Wilmington Riverfront.

As a side note, Spider-Man 2 and The Dark Knight (5/5 stars) are tied for the highest rated live-action superhero films of all time on RT, both at 94%. A lot of people have The Dark Knight as their favorite superhero film, but a lot more people would be surprised to see Spider-Man 2 tied with it. I think it deserves it- my 2nd favorite superhero film of all time, after The Dark Knight, and my 5th favorite movie from any genre, ever.
