Sorry to post this, but the Heat badly whiffed on Dame - In large part due to sheer arrogance

A typo? You got me.

You are a running punchline that nobody respects. It used to be fun, but having you show back up with your constant string of dumbass takes and you not realize that you are the joke is just sad now.

People have stopped even humoring you because it stopped be funny and is just pathetic.
Or maybe I simply post facts at a time when certain posters get too butthurt when point the flaws of their beloved message board friend…

Where Miami messed up at was not making Beal their priority.
Lillard for sure locked them up and prevented an opportunity for a big move.

Beal with his full no trade clause made it a dicey proposition to go after. I am not sure if there was a big move out there for Miami this year.

Beal always wanted to go to Miami but they showed little interest because they were locked in on this. Beal was the safe move with the assets they had to offer while Dame was the long shot

If that is the case it is a miss. Especially after he went for so little.

I think Portland offered their #3 pick for him, but while Miami still could have rightfully said no, Riley overall thinks he’s too good to rebuild. Gave the Blazers bad vibes in dealing with them in the future (i.e. Dame).
Why would a team that went to the finals rebuild?

Taking Caleb Martin off the table was a very stupid move for Miami. They really thought they could force Portland to take a bad deal.

Didn't say they should. That said, the fact that Riley scoffed at the offer w/o doing due diligence left a bad taste on the Portland side for potential deals in the future (Dame).

Jrue, Sloth Harden, Lowry, Brogdon could all play musical chairs.

Gonna be hilarious if the Blazers trade Jrue for the same deal Miami was offering for Dame.
Good luck w/ that.

Another issue being overlooked in Miami's pursuit of Lillard is that they should have looked for a third team to take on Herro (I had suggested Charlotte).

They didn't, though. Again, pure arrogance that they believed they should get by way of their weak offer of Herro and two firsts...

Yes they did lol. There were multiple reports since July and as recently as Monday that they were looking for a 3rd team to take on Herro. Don't talk about shit you are clueless about.

I know nothing about any of this so I’m not saying it is true that the Heat whiffed based on sheer arrogance but it sounds like what people said about the Knicks regarding Donovan Mitchell since they visited Utah during the playoff home game and didn’t offer nearly enough because they thought he was all but theirs.

Was that on the Miami side or Portland side? Because I've been reading Portland, who obviously was able to coax Phoenix into taking Nurk off their hands.
