Aggie wins this poll.

To put it into perspective, A&M's lead of 34 points is even bigger than the lead the Oilers had in that infamous game in Buffalo (32 points).

I voted Baylor.
Yes, we blew a big lead. However, It was on the road, against a team that is pretty evenly matched with one one the best QB's, everyone was picking us to lose, and we were 5 point dogs, and we only lost by 1 point. Although painful, all we really did was meet expectations.

We didn't start out ranked and lose at home by more than 10 by an opponent that we should have easily beaten...like some other texas teams

I mentioned that in the game thread. I had the same sick feeling last night. I saw it happening and the whole final 10 minutes of the fourth I felt like the game couldn't end fast enough

We won't really know until we find out how good or bad UCLA, Maryland, OU, Stanford and...wait for it....wait for it....Liberty are later in the season. If any of those end up real, real good...then the loss ain't too bad. If any of them end up real, real bad, then it was a real shitty loss.

I'd be willing to guess that A&M and Texas got a lot more out of their games in regards to preparing for tough games than Stanford and OU did. The hooters and my Miners weren't even competitive. Stanford and OU would get more out of an scrimmage. JMO.

starting to wonder if there are any DC's that can build a decent defense out of Texas recruits...maybe the problem runs a little deeper than coaching...on the collegiate level

I initially voted Houston because no loss is as bad as what that city/school is facing.

On the field it has to be Baylor though. All of the other teams either lost games they were supposed to and will have other opportunities against weaker competition or are looking at rebuilds that, while daunting, can happen.

Baylor is starting at irrevalancy. If you do the math with current P5 schools compared to a future of 4 16 team mega conferences, there are a couple of P5 schools that won't make the cut. 5 years ago their product was good enough on the field that it wasn't a concern. Now it should be.

One can argue which Texas team had the worst Week 1. One cannot argue which Texas team's coach had the worst Week 1.

I blame our 7 on 7 in the high schools. It is great at developing QBs, WRs and DBs that can cover. But the DBs and LBs lose their tackling skills because they just touch 'em.

JMO.

Choke jobs are bad but I think level of competition matters.

Yes it does.

And one would have to logically conclude that A&M and UCLA are just about even teams...at least the past two years. One wins in overtime and the other in the last seconds.

As the only SERIOUS Baylor fan on this site, I feel the need to remind you all that losing to an FCS team is not an emBARESSment for the Bares, because when you get right down to it, Baylor virtually IS an FCS team themselves.

They lost their all-tme greatest coach, two entire recruiting classes de-committed, and their starting qb transfered to Auburn.

And before you bring up the whole "they brought it on themselves" line of argument, keep in mind that the OP is asking which team embarrassed themselves on the football field this weekend.

Given everything that has happened in the past two years, this is about as good as anybody said they expected out of Baylor.
