I know that....I'm attached. Look, I'll keep getting mad during the game, that's not the point...the point was you can't control something, so just move on with your day.
It's not any great wisdom, it's just something a die-hard fan like himself has learned
I've been told the same thing all my life. I would rather get over it in my own way. Let me strew in my anger for a little bit, then I will be fine. I am sure you are the same way.

Attached ... but at game time we immerse ourselves. We collectively know what moves and plays should happen based on the players capabilities ... and we expect that performance. And when performance or management decisions in our mind should have happened ... being immersed emotionally we pick fights with the results and characters. Wish it were just attached.

You are right...It's obsession and immersion.

yeah probably like that, ...pretty angry when they aren't playing well and then I am typically fine.
But, without boring everyone. What happened was...

Here he was calling about my pup, who we couldn't bring with us (still in KC) because she's needs to stay close to her vet and her neurology specialist, and I'm not going to get into that because I will cry.
Anyway, that WAS important, the lost game was not and I was ranting about it.

He had a simple question about her, which I promptly had to say "NO" (he wants to feed her more, and he can't...she's hungry all the time because she's on steroids) He knows he shouldn't over-feed her but, my mother was at the store and I think he just called to hear the "NO"...and then a cute little story about her.

So once again, why am I ranting about the game? I was being ridiculous...he called me out on it and he should of. It was just a little reminder of keeping baseball in perspective. And quite frankly I feel a little guilty about ranting to him about a baseball game when he's tending to my own pup.

And before anyone thinks I'm a bad dog owner, I'm not....she adores him, and staying with my parents...it's much harder on me, but it was the right thing to do for her.

Holy Dr Drew. It's a baseball board.
I'm done.

Go Rangers!

It's difficult but sometimes you have to burn through a bad situation or it will get the best of you on the following days or missions ahead. They lost today, so time for them to review their failures, scope the problem make whatever adjustments and CHARLIE MIKE.

Sure your dog will be fine with your parents. And I'm sure your Dad was just as big a fan (Cardinals) as you are at your age. Age matures people and puts things in perspective sometimes. Dang I hate getting deep!

I think if we all actually knew as much as we claim to know... we would probably would be working in professional baseball already rather than posting comments about it on a forum. These guys get paid to do this because they have dedicated there entire lives to the game and to suggest that we know the game better than them is a little arrogant IMO. Sure, we know what we would have done if it was up to us or what we think a players capabilities are but we are not working with these guys day in and day out and we don't have any inside info other than what we see on the field. So in reality, our ability to form well thought out analysis is limited. Really, at the end of the day, they are really just our opinions and we like to think that more positive things would happened had our logic been used instead, when, in fact, there is actually no real way of determining this.

This thread almost over.Like Rev said we all move on our own way. Disappointment still stings and hurts. All set to watch a great game but life intervenes with ER visit. Everything fine, but it puts life & games in perspective. Thinking as I read all the posts, that we should be doing better even with all the superglue & bandaids to hold this team together. why would Wash get so ugly so fast. Butts are on the line. Wash knows that Nolan & JD knows that we keep disappointing fans at home. Only 84% percent full with Darvish on the mound, which would have meant a sell out in the spring, and another loss at home in front of a not sold out crowd. Of the six division leaders we are the worse by far with only +8 winning home record while Atlanta is something like +22. It is a multi million $ business & guys like Charlie Manuel are waiting to show they can coach not just get lucky. Would like to go to a ranger game and thought about spending the $ to go see Darvish today, but just couldn't pull the trigger because Rangers while exciting and talented seem to forget fundamentals. Stitches happen from time to time, and this game is so frustrating for us Ranger fans when it doesn't have to be. Oh we'll, tomorrow is another day.

If they only would listen to me, I'd have em unfeated! hahaha
