I will admit I am stubborn, but that doesn't mean I cant eventually see the other side... But I will need the other side explained to me before I can ever change my opinion...
First off, I never said it was the best lineup, But I think the rotation and Bullpen makes this the best team...

as for the offense, I will only include the stats that I think are worthwhile at the spot they are hitting

1. Joe Morgan(career OBP .392, SB 689) had 9 seasons of .400 OBP or better
2. Brett Butler(career OBP .377, SB 558, 162 average SO of 66) 7 seasons of an OBP better than .377(his average) and grounds into 5 double plays a season.
3. Bob Johnson(.296 BA, .393 OBP,.899 OPS) 162 game average HR of 25 and 112 RBIs,
4. Eddie Mathews( BA .271, OBP.376,.885 OPS) 162 game average of 35 HRs and 98 RBIs
5. Charlie Keller (BA .286, OBP .410, OPS .928) 162 game average of 26 HRs and 105 RBIs
6. Bobby Bonds( BA .268, OBP .353, OPS .824) 162 game average 29 HRs 90 RBIs, 40 SBs
7. Norm Cash ( BA .271, OBP .374, OPS .862) 162 game average 29 HRs 86 RBIs
8. Jim Sundberg( BA .248, OBP .327) Arguably the best defensive Catcher of all time
9. Lyn Lary ( BA .269, OBP .369) 162 game average of 20 SBs...

As you can see, everyone except for Jim Sundberg has an OBP of .353 or higher...
Lots of speed at top, and over 25 HR average from everyone from 3-7...
I'm sorry, but on what planet could you argue Sundberg was better defensively than Pudge Rodriguez or Johnny Bench? Plus, he couldn't hit his was out of a wet paper sack

He has a defensive WAR of 25 in 16 seasons with only playing 3 games elsewhere besides catcher... Has a 41% career CS rate... and has a .993 Career fielding percentage

Bench had a 19.3 defensive WAR in 17 and 200 less games at catcher(than Sundberg)... had a 43% percent career CS rate and a .990 career fielding percentage...

Looks very close to me!!!

Sunny was a good defensive catcher(I should know) Comparing him to Pudge is like comparing Steve Nash to Magic Johnson

I never said sundberg was the best I said he can arguably be called the best...

Then you brought 2 catchers into the mix pudge and bench... I showed you how close those 2 are to eachother...

Pudge I would agree is better defensively than both sundberg and Bench... But Sundberg and his 25 dWAR vs Pudge and his 28.5 dWAR where pudge played for 5 more seasons, is very close...

Not to mention Sundberg had a better fielding percentage(even if it is by .02) Point is that it is close enough that it could be argued that either one is better...

But either way if he is not the BEST defensive catcher he is clearly ONE of the Best...

It is somewhat irritating when people don't vote in all the games!

I could agree with him being one of the best all day long. I only said something because you stated he could be argued as THE best ever...IMO, no one can argue they were better defensively than Pudge

I gave the argument for it though, even if I don't believe it, I could see a valid argument... Maybe I should have been more clear with the statement I made and said he can arguably be the best available defensive catcher in this format...

It's too bad this draft was interrupted. I like the 2 team deal, and think it would be fun to have an all time draft, with no draft or trade restrictions, even with yourself... Because, why not, it's all in fun

I'm with ya aside from the trading between your teams, you could just create a Super Team and leave your other team to die...

Everyone be careful betting on Nationals. They struggle against Miami for some reason.
