I dunno why some of you guys are saying at least win 1 in St.Louis.We should at least win the series we are the better team.No reason why we cant win all 3 of these series.Just need the bats to wake up.GO REDS!!!
@johnU In your opening post on the thread you said we are "missing Strasburg again..." We faced Strasburg in game 3 in the last series we played Washington and we lit him up, I think the Reds scarred him cause he has been getting lit up since that start lol.
The Reds may be a more talented team than the Cardinals. That's debatable. Both have solid pitching. The Reds have a better bullpen. The Cardinals hit for a better average, but I don't think they've scored as many runs as the Reds. However, the big thing that separates the Reds and the Cardinals is intelligence. It's why the Cardinals always seem to get lucky. It's a smart team, smart organization. Smart teams make their own luck. The Reds, on the other hand, prescribe to the philosophy of suicide by stupidity. I would expect that over the course of the season, the Reds will probably play the Cardinals at around a .500 clip. I expect the Reds to take most of the series at GABP and the Cardinals to take most of the series at Busch. Therefore, I think avoiding a sweep is crucial. Anything beyond that is gravy, imo.
We can keep asking our pitchers to throw shutouts but we haven't got the goddamned brains in the dugout to realize that Zach Cozart has absolutely zero reason to be batting 2nd in this lineup.
Almost everyone in baseball knows this team can't hit.
Even if they come back tomorrow and score 11 runs, the truth is ... any pitcher in the league can shut this team down by throwing strikes. Just . throwing . strikes.
We all knew Choo would have some o-fers ... and clearly when that happens, there is no offense.
Choo has looked like Ty Cobb so far, but his numbers in the past say he doesn't hit lefty pitching. We need a 2 hitter that can get on base... It's THE weak link in the lineup.
Gonzalez ERA is healing up now. So is the anemic Nats offense. Bronson couldn't stop spinning that breaker into the lefty wheelhouses. It happens. I'll be happy with a split of this series. How often does anyone get out of the Capitol with half what they wanted, except politicians and hookers.
BTW you know the difference in a politician and a hooker ? The hooker will STOP screwing you after you die.
I have a weird feeling that the bats are gonna wake up tonight, with a offensive explosion.I mean it cant get much worse then last night. But hopefully losing as bad as they did last night lit a fire under there ass and they start to heat up.GO REDS!
Well, an offensive explosion for the Reds is 3 hits by the 4th inning. So don't bet the farm tonight. Zimmermann is probably as good as Gio, except he's a righty.
