Manny Parra moving up to Triple-A

Reds reliever Manny Parra is set to continue his minor-league rehab assignment at Triple-A Louisville Thursday, as he continues to recover from a strained left pectoral muscle.

Parra has made three starts at Double-A Pensacola, pitching five combined scoreless innings. Parra has been out since the end of April.


Sean Marshall unavailable with shoulder inflammation

Reds reliever Sean Marshall is sidelined, due to inflammation in his left shoulder, a similar issue to the one that forced him to the disabled list earlier in the season.

Marshall does not seem to think this will also require a trip to the DL, but they are being extra careful with him.

Too bad they don't get docked for poor attendance. I felt the Reds gave up too much in giving the Cubs 3 players, including Travis Wood and Dave Sappelt , for a guy ( Marshall) that wasn't good enough to close OR start for the CUBS, then give him an extendion and a raise. I like it less when he can't seem to pitch longer than a month without needling time off. Nothing against Marshall, who has been pretty effective when he pitches, but in case no one has noticed, there aren't many lefty pitchers on this team, and unless something drastically changes Manny Parra, he isn't likely to fill in well for any of the ones we currently WANT to use.

This isn't new. Why you think the Brewers dumped him and signed Gonzalez? What's wrong with using Cingrani as a reliever ?
