Reds radio reach

We were discussing attendance and the fans not long ago. This map is pretty interesting and one of the reasons the Reds have such a strong following, even if they aren't at the ballpark. They DO listen and watch. This is a lot bigger reach than I had realized.

Reds are big on radio... I prefer it to TV coverage. I'd take Marty over anyone on TV... unfortunately, the Reds will have a hard time turning that following into foot traffic and gate receipts at GABP.... unless they put a winning product on the field and drag a few more celebs to be seen, and draw the bandwagoners. Frequent residents George Foster, George Wendt and Charlie Sheen aren't enough.

I suppose butts in the ballpark is one good way of making a profit but as long as the advertisers know they have a reach, the team will still do pretty well. I personally find their radio advertising to be annoying but I am not in the market for any of what they sell. I also only get my radio via the Internet. None of these stations, except for WLW on a perfect night in my car radio, even reaches me. I have to depend on MLB.tv for all my Reds coverage.

How did you come to be a Reds fan ? You're in Cubs / Whitesox country aren't you ? Reds long time AAA was in Indy though.
