Because the media does a really shitty job of actually talking about obviously terrible decisions on draft day and breaking down which teams are failing:

As you watch the Saints fall to 3-6 tonight realize this:

-Their geriatric starting QB is not under contract next season.
-The teams cap is as bad as their is in the league. ”Scheduled“ right now to have about $280 million against the cap next season (about $50 mil over the cap).
-They don’t have a 1st round pick this coming draft or their 2nd round pick 2024 (and they are giving them both to one of the best teams in the league in Phili).
- Their best players are OLD and declining.
- They are about to lose a ton of talent in FA. Davenport, Onyemata, Landry, Dalton, Ingram, Callaway.

Add it all up and there isn’t a team in worse shape moving forward than this team. The GM literally mortgaged the future for THIS team.

What Loomis has done in New Orleans the last couple years is nothing short of criminal. Has completely put the future of that franchise behind trying to squeak out a few extra wins in an attempt to save his job.
