Gray I think has pitched well in his last couple starts but don't hold me to it. How are we missing Hill? Is he hurt?

From Friday

In his second start since returning from a strained upper back muscle, Gray faced the minimum 15 batters through five innings and didn't give up a hit until Tucker Barnhart singled with one out in the sixth.

Gray has lost his last five decisions, the longest slump of his career. He gave up five hits and one walk.

TRAINER'S ROOM

Athletics: LHP Rich Hill, who went on the 15-day DL on Thursday with a strained groin, will rest for about a week before starting a rehab program.

So who you want manning RF?

Oh, and yes it was too.
I would like Mazara there but you're going to have 'hide' Choo somewhere there in the outfield.

It's MUCH harder to hide someone in RF. Besides, why do you want too? We've got a very good one.

LF is pretty tough in Arlington actually

Choo has already shown himself to be much better in RF as opposed to LF

The choice comes down to is the OF defense better overall with Choo in LF or RF as a whole, not whether Mazara is a better RFer, which he clearly is

Groin injury. Just saw that Mazara throw. Amazing!

And Cano is no slouch on the bases. The throw not only had to be a rocket but right in front of the bag. Both happened. Amazing.

Man alive, we've gotten some spectacular lightening, and pretty heavy rain for about an hour to an hour 40. Still coming down pretty good too.

Been my situation in Waco for the past hour. Trailing off now though.

Not likely. lol

What To Do With Shin-Soo Choo

Choo may be best served as the fourth outfielder, since he regularly finds himself on the disabled-list and has yet to play 150 games in a season since joining the Rangers. However, the Rangers may not be content with him only playing a few times a week since they are paying him roughly $20 million this season. That is a hefty price tag for an aging, injury prone, back-up outfielder.

Another likely scenario is that Choo and Rua share left field, with Rua starting when the Rangers face left handed pitchers and Choo starting against right handed pitchers. It will allow both to stay healthy and the Rangers to keep Desmond and Mazara in the lineup full time.

It's pretty sad...... I mean how much they owe both Choo and Fielder.

Looked them up, seen anywhere from 50-100 bucks for one, could be a good investment for someone on here that watches a lot of Rangers games and hates the telecast

But that would be one less thing to bitch about:D

Most teams need a big veteran presence, but Texas appears to be best at just rolling out the "next man up". Best to save our big contracts for FA pitching (and catching apparently) and let our IF and OF just replenish through the farm system. Granted that is something we have learned over the last year or so, so JD gets a pass on Fielder (who I think we only got because of Profar being blocked by Ian) and Choo (who we got when it appeared we couldn't get any young OF in our system to produce).

Bush has already throw 30 innings - minors/Rangers - this season. And Dyson is on pace for 75 outings.

That's way too much IMO.

Rangers' Cole Hamels: Beats Mariners in quality start
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire
Hamels tossed seven inning of one-run ball versus the Mariners on Sunday, striking out five and walking two en route to his sixth win of the season.

The left-hander was on point Sunday, as he allowed just four runners past first base and lowered his ERA to 3.14 with his third consecutive quality start. Hamels boasts a solid 8.8 K/9 rate to supplement that figure, and he is on pace to surpass last season's total of 13 wins for a red hot Rangers club. His next start will come Friday at St. Louis.
