Considering he's their #3-4 prospect, its pretty damning of their system at this point and time

I just don't see a whole lot to like about the guy, mediocre stick and bad defense, everywhere he plays and he's already 25, not exactly young

I think the A's just wanted to make him someone else's problem and get something remotely useful at this point

Well ... pretty good stick .306/.354/.469/.823 consistently at all levels coming up is more than mediocre. Looks like a Ben Zobrist starter kit. Just think OAK overpayed for why they acquired Callaspo. That's all I got.

Eh, from what I've read it looks good in the minors, but probably won't translate as well to the majors, .280ish guy with 10-15 HR potential

That would be great for a 2B if he didn't field the position wearing clown shoes

Honestly at this point, unless you plan on DFAing Murphy, why would we want him?

with Morse being a deficit positional player at 1st & in the OF( even worse than Murphy) i would expect that we keep our 4 OF'ers of Martin, Gentry, Beltre & Murphy and look at him as a DH that makes the move of Profar to AAA the more logical move.

I think what he's saying is a bat that comes in and eats up Profar's ABs at DH means there's no reason why Profar shouldn't be at AAA at that point with Garcia taking on the strictly UTIL role

Yep now the haggling begins on salary and prospects. If Chisox refuse the offer they can claim him back if I understand the rules. Would be nice to have his bat on our team instead of the Chisox when we play them.
