Mazara joins Baldelli and Ichiro Suzuki (Seattle, 2001) as the only rookies to have won the award in April and May. Mazara also led AL rookies in batting average, on-base percentage (.319), total bases (52), hits (30), extra-base hits (eight) and runs (12). His 52 hits this season check in as the second-highest total for any Rangers batter over his first 45 career games -- Bump Wills had 53 in that span in 1977

Not with Betts, Ortiz, Bradley Jr., Machado, etc... having the kinds of seasons they are

Maybe a couple years ago when the offensive numbers were lower
