1st question is it should be. However they did not deem it necessary last year. They approached this year thinking a strong SRotation would be all that is necessary and it blew up in their face.
2nd question: I hope not!

Just couldn’t believe they would fix the starting rotation. And not had at least a couple pieces to the bullpen.

Hopefully, it was just a case of a rookie GM who was trained by someone severely devalued offseason bullpen additions. Maybe, he sees now, that the man who trained him in this was very, very wrong.

Both. I believe that they will spend on bringing in a solid bullpen starting with the best closer and building the middle reliever core. There is no one on the team that could bring quality to the bullpen. We’ll have another disaster like this season if we try and stay internal

Do you believe then, that you often line up with the front office when it comes to plans for the club? Or, is it more a case of wishful thinking on your part?

I don't usually have near the confidence that the front office will do as I think they should, as you seem to usually have.

I don’t always align with what the FO does or says but in the case of what they need to do for next season it’s self-evident that the major need is in the bullpen. Don’t you see it that way?

I saw they needed bullpen help last year and they didn't see it that way. I think we both feel they should find at least 5 quality guys this coming offseason for the bullpen. I don't expect them to do that though.

and there's always some weird reasoning too... like today, for example. Jon Daniels trained Chris Young to not think the bullpen is important?

While we are concerned with the BP we might consider the rotation as well.
DeGrom and Sherzer will not be available at the start. Bradford will have to prove himself if he starts. Heaney and Gray have not paned out. Eovalti and Montgomery are our best bet at this time and Mongomery isn't a sure extension.

Sherzer won't be availble? hadn't heard that
