Hopefully what the doctor ordered but a few more off days is what they need.

The Oakland A's are using Detwiler ( Rangers cast off), some guy I never heard of, and Maneae (sp?).

These guys are not a bunch of aces. We should be able to score some runs.

Detwiler pitched 8 shut out innings in a 1-0 win last week against the Orioles line up.

He was also at home ( much easier park to pitch) and probably extra motivated because it was his first start. I think we will get at least 3 off him.

That was his only good appearance for the entire season. He was downright awful for the Indians as a reliever. They sent him down to AAA where he also got knocked around. His 8 innings against the Orioles only featured 2 strikeouts and, from what I could tell, he had a lot of balls in play against him that were hit right at people.

Even with our horrible hitting of late, we should be able to break our scoreless streak tonight.

I sure hope the offense can find some consistency the rest of the way like they did last year. As often as the offense goes cold now it is hard being able to imagine them not going cold long enough to make it through the postseason.

Hoping the same. We had some rocket shots against Fulmer yesterday which ended up in gloves for outs. Hope the A's are not as lucky as they have been in the past.

Profar had some good at bats, with no results.

Maybe it is the calm before the storm? :)

Remember we have to peak just at the right time to make it run into the playoffs.

Such optimism. ha ha
I'm relying on the fact that Detwiler is much worse than both Boyd and Fulmer in making my bold statement. Probably foolish optimism, but I guess we'll see.

Naw, I really don't it's foolish optimism.

All kidding aside, this team has too many good hitters to be struggling like they have, and once that worm turns, it may all be clear sailing.

Let's hope the weather and our bats cooperate this evening.

Would like to see Choo catch fire too like he did at the end of last year.
