Really hope we win this game. Watching until it's over, but I have an early flight tomorrow to Kosovo where I will be working with an NGO doing law work and won't be able to access games. Might be the last game I see for a while.

If there is a game that makes me nervous for this team right now it’s a Felix start. His starts need heavy production from the lineup or it’ll be last nights outing every time; granted the bullpen blew it just as much but you get my point. Luckily for us we follow up a Felix start with a Paxton start to get us back on track, and the rest of the starters are damn near just as productive. It was always Felix that would right our wrongs and be the guy to attempt putting a hault to a string of losses, but now he’s become the roadblock to keeping streaks alive. Can’t win them all I suppose.

I don't have a problem with using Diaz in a tie game like some do. However I do have a problem with the amount of usage lately. That was his 6th appearance in 8 games. Seems like you could have avoided using him and brought in Nicasio or someone else. Not just saying that because of the result but I'd rather not run Diaz into the ground.

My biggest issues with him in non-save situations is his K rate is way down in non-save and he has actually given up more homers in non than in save but has pitched almost half the innings in non.

I totally agree. I have no problem with using Diaz in a tie game, they win if they score in the bottom of the 9th anyway. As I said a few days ago, Servais will have to manage Diaz carefully down the stretch based on his projected numbers and the amount of time he's been used this season. My hope (and pray) is Servais will not drive him to the ground.

Chris Herrmann has been diagnosed with a strain in his right rib cage.

It sounds like he could be headed to the disabled list, as David Freitas has reported to Seattle ahead of Wednesday night's tilt against the Rangers. Hermann had appeared in just one game with the Mariners.
