I love what he is doing, but I am not ready to proclaim his greatness just yet. I still remember watching Dave Fleming for an entire two years thinking we struck gold only to find out later it was pyrite.

I will never have an issue saying I'm glad Marco is on the Mariners. But Jerry still sucks as a trade partner for giving up what he did for him.

For me still the bad part about that trade was that the M's were really strapped with very few desirable prospects and they gave up one of the few that they had for someone who was not going to be able to help them while they were in the middle of a playoff race. That's what really irked me about that trade more than anything else.

The trade blew balls for the Mariners. But wasn't trying to be negative Nancy or anything, I was just replying to a comment made. Marco has been lights out and tied for the 2nd best pitcher on the team with Wade the White. Marco is probably my number 2 starter in a playoff series if it started today.

Oh for sure. Definitely didn't see Gonzales or Leblanc pitching like they have to this point. I agree I would have Gonzales pitch second in a hypothetical playoff series as well. I'd put money on the M's putting Felix in that spot though, regardless of what his stats are.

I know some people are down on Servais on the board, but I think the dude has a huge role in having the clubhouse as tight as it is. If it came down to it, I think he'd be able to get enough guys to make Felix realize he isn't the guy to pitch unless they are up 2-0 or down 0-2 (I don't know if they switched the ALDS series, it's been 17 years)

That is actually a really good point and something I am guilty of as well. I have called out Servais on more than one occasion for the things you can see like handing the bullpen. He has made some very dumb decisions. But there is also part of baseball that you don't see like inside the clubhouse, and you very well may be spot on about that. I'd like to think so anyway.

Those stats are really sad to see. Felix had some awesome years with the M's. It's really too bad he seems to be so stubborn about making the necessary adjustments in the AL.
