We get a backup or an MVP for $1 million. He walks we get a 3rd round draft pick.
Competition in camp, does Stidham rise or fall?
Either way, it is worth it having Cam for a dollar.
Can you imagine what's going on in the head of the rest of the AFCE right now? Priceless!
Most folks are laughing at New England.

But a cheater non the less.

Did he use the rules to his advantage?
I would believe that he did.
But, it is not cheating if it is not against the rules.
From the evidence shown he followed the rules to get what he wanted.
He outsmarted the NFL.
They didn't like it, so they made him out to be a cheater.

I still gave your comments a winner for the first two items. Why do you care how he dresses or if he wears anything at all (other than the legal ramifications keeping him off the field)?
Enough with the baseless facepalms.

Hard to say.
Stidham has a year with Skippy Mcd and the Pats that Cam does not.
Stidham does not have an injury history.
Stidham does not have an MVP.
Stidham does not have playoff experience.
Stidham can move better than Brady, but not as well as a pre-injury Cam.
I just feel like Cam is a 1 million dollar workout. First he has to beat Hoyer, then he needs to beat Stiddy.
$1 mil for a former MVP is dirt cheap. It's almost charity to bring him in and give him a chance at this point, it's not about the money, it's about prove you can still play.
Hoyer knows the system, but if Stiddy goes down Hoyer is not going to carry us to the promised land.
A healthy Cam? Yeah. Seriously, yes he could.
But if the foot fails, or the shoulder fails...see yah!!!
Stidham can't throw the deep ball consistently
Stidham can't hold onto the ball in the red zone
Stidham can't handle pressure and rushes his throws
Stidham can't put the game on his shoulders and win

Cam will be the starter by game 3 if not out of the gate.

I'm hoping Cam is primed for a revenge tour with Bill and Skippy looking to prove Brady made a big mistake and Cam lights it up coming out of the gate.

If you're Cam Newton, think of it this way.................."I'll take a low one year contract and......."

1. Beat out a kid for the starting job.
2. Keep the Patriots on their winning track
3. Make everyone forget about the guy who went to Tampa Bay
4. Get the Patriots deep into the playoffs and maybe the Super Bowl and get myself a ring

5. Sign a 5 year $200M in 2021.

Just saw an article on whether Cam can fit in with the Pats due to his "show boating" style. Last I checked Gronkowski fit in just fine. Anybody think Gronk didn't fit in or didn't show boat?

To fit in you must DO YOUR JOB. As long as the show boating matches the JOB YOU DID there will be no issues with Cam or anybody else who show boats, just as there was not with Gronk.

I have to wonder if all this is to get a potential third round pick back? Ink him to a one year deal, let teams take a look he gets signed away we get our 3rd round pick back.

Can kinda see the logic, though the picks will be in different years. And it requires Cam to play well enough to earn a top tier contract next year. And if he plays well enough to earn that the Pats may prefer to keep him themselves once their cap situation frees up next year.
