Game Thread: Preseason - Flyers/Rangers(9-28-15)

This one is going to be pretty close to A squad vs A squad. Couple missing parts on each team, but pretty close to the real deal.

I'm pumped.

This game has been primarily ugly. Except mase.

Manning making the case as to why he should not be an nhl defenseman. Hes been borderline horrendous.

Manning had one nice shift after I said that. Then returned to being bad.

G's timing is off.

Laughton and schenn are probably the only 2 skaters having a solid game. Bschenn that is. Voracek has been ok too.

Mase is a beast.

Is it just me, or is it just the limited amount of actual game and not youtube highlights that I have seen, and it could be the knee injury...but is Gudas just a smaller, slower Luke Schenn? He really didn't look good at all too me, and I admit that I only was about half watching the game....but he looks slow, he tries to play a heavy game and isn't big enough/doesn't generate the pop in his skating to be as effective...Maybe this is preseason rust? I don't know....back to the fermented beverages

I don't have much expectations for Gudas assuming he even makes the team. Bottom pair guy that hits hard. Pick your poison for who you want on the bottom pair

LSchenn is significantly superior to Gudas in every respect except hitting and beard. I'd be a little miffed if Gudas is in the top 6 over LSchenn.

Regardless, Macdonald should probably be in the press box, let both of the above play.

also, I still think they have to break up Giroux and Voracek. They have nothing offensively after the top line if they play together.

of course, I'm willing to give it time as we're still in the preseason, but man..

Gudas should not make this team. It is not rust as I have seen him in the past and what we saw last night is how he plays all the time. Schenn > Gudas.

I cant believe how bad MacDonald looked I hope he gets better it was just atrocious to watch.

On a brighter note Laughton looked very good and Mase is a stud.

Other than contract issues, there is no logical reason to have MacDonald on this roster.

Gudas will most likely be a reserve and he's cheap. Not sure what AMac is doing he shouldn't be this bad.

I do know one thing their PP is crazy good and the PK hasn't looked too bad...that may just be enough to get them in. It wasn't like the rags were killing them....you just never know.
