dont really like the return the devils would get buuuuuuuuuuuut i do believe that goalie is the weakest position to trade from. meaning if the devils did want to move cory i dont think they would get a lot back in return

- Jaroslav Halak
- Christ Stewart
- William Carrier
- First-round draft pick in 2015
= 3rd round pick in 2016.

Devils with Cory under contract and just having the season they had would get a kings ransom for him.

Also, if we were to trade Cory to Edmonton, I wouldn't take anyone besides Taylor Hall or better, aka McDavid.

Also, does anyone have a list of teams that are in cap trouble for next season? With CapGeek gone it's hard to check. Took for granted how amazing that site was for all these years.

yeah cory is a star but when you look at trade partners...... obviously you toss out teams in our division as trade partners.

wings have howard/mazerk
bruins rask
habs price
buffalo is an option
sens anderson and burgler
leafs are an option
panthers louongo
bolts bishop

heck even teams in our division there isn't a demand.

isles halak
pens fluery
rangers queen
flyers mason (maybe?)
jackets bob
canes ward
caps holtby


without naming all the west goalies.....only fits would really be winnipeg oilers wild dallas. add them with leafs and buffalo. heck two of those teams even made the playoffs this year so do they really "need" a goalie?

so that cuts down on the amount of teams right there. heck there are only 30 starting goalies in the nhl its not like a team can trade for him and play him on the second line or third line.

keep in mind as great as he has been its still 1 year as a starter and ZERO playoff success and i think only 1 playoff game.

as "great" as that trade looks the blues didn't really give anything up

halak was a UFA so they had to move him
stewart sucks and is a 3rd line player
carrier hasn't even played an nhl game

most attractive thing in this deal are the draft picks. a 1st and 3rd. thats a kovy type package

the blues were getting a goalie who has some playoff experience a veznia and an olympic medal.

i do agree though i wouldn't want eberle...i rather hall but they wouldn't move him and he has been complaining about his shoulder forever now it seems
