Great at bat by Morneau, laying off a couple tight ones, and fouling off a tough one, to get the RBI walk and get us on the board.

We need to take advantage of these scoring opportunities. But man was that an unlucky break. Barmes tagged that ball, but right at third, and Pedro's secondary lead was too big for him to have any hope of getting back.

The Reds just lost 1 - 0 to the N.Y. Mets!

If we can get this win today & the sweep of the Chi. Cubs? We will have a 2 Gm lead on the Reds heading in to that series Friday, in Cincinnati.

Which means, we would only need 1 win in the series against the Reds to give us the Home WC Playoff Gm at PNC Park.

Now, if the Stl. Cardinals would just lose a freakin Gm or two. Sigh...

Franky didn't have his best stuff, but he got no help from the home plate umpire or his defense today. A small strike zone and a porous defense really cost him.
