Pretty good week last week, Pens went 3-0 and are now on a 4 game win streak.

This week's schedule...

Wednesday, November 4th, @ Vancouver Canucks

Friday, November 6th, @ Edmonton Oilers

Saturday, November 7th, @ Calgary Flames

Worth noting that Brandon Sutter is the Canucks' 3rd leading scorer with 3 goals, 4 assists, for 7 points in 11 games (would make him our 2nd leading scorer next to Geno). Wish we had kept him. Was probably the most underrated Penguin the past few years. I could see him having a big game against us.

Capitals appear to be sliding...

I'm beginning to like our chances of getting a top 3 spot in the division.

What a feed from the hot dog man at the blue line all the way down thru the hash marks to Sid. Hopefully that goal will spark Crosby. Lord knows he needs it. The PP actually worked!

Powerplay goal, 1-0 Pens. Loved the way they made the goal, Crosby was aggressive shooting the puck, and Hornqvist does his thing in front of the net.

Nevermind, the play was offside. The goal is overturned.

Edmonton scored, I didn't see it.

Sprong brings things even at 1. Great work by Plotnikov and Cullen below the net, and Sprong notches the goal.

Kessel scores on the powerplay. Deflected off a glove. 2-1 Pens.

Also, Nail Yakupov has a simply terrible mustache.

Not their best game, but that's six wins in a row for the Penguins, and also as a bonus, their third straight game with a powerplay goal.

I have no evidence of this in the form of data, but this team tends to do a good job shutting it down.

The DB led teams of the past were comfortable giving up a 4-2 lead in the third, then scoring late or in OT/SO to win 5-4.

This team is playing the type of games that will win in the playoffs, I think the scoring will come as they get more comfortable in the system.

Also, Brian Doumlin is playing very well, he's not quite Paul Martin, but he could get there if he keeps this up. Reminds me of Kevin Klein of the Rangers, very underrated player.

Their play in the neutral zone has been largely exceptional. The forwards are doing a great job of backchecking, even the ones who don't have that reputation. Malkin and Kessel have both impressed me defensively, especially. Kessel last night made a bad turnover, but made up for it with his speed, getting back quickly and breaking up the rush the other way.
