Game Thread: Penguins GNT/GDT week 24 (Mar 14 - Mar 20)

It seemed like the Pens saw an edge in speed and decided to make that their focus. Really took advantage of their superior skating.

It's been a long time since the Pens could claim to be the superior skating team in virtually every game.

3-2 over the Blue Jackets @ Columbus

5-3 over the Rangers @ New York

2-1 over the Islanders @ Pittsburgh

4-2 over the Hurricanes @ Pittsburgh

4-1 over the Flyers @ Philadelphia

6-2 over the Capitals @ Pittsburgh

Best part is that we're getting better and better with each passing game.

Nicest thing about this team is that there's no deadweight(closest is Ian Cole, but he's gotten better I must admit). Everyone on the team could skate, everyone could shoot, & they don't just pass the puck hoping to get the perfect shot. This is a very aggressive team which we haven't seen the likes of since they won the Cup in 2009.

What a difference from the start of the season!

Justin Schultz is also going to be a great addition to the team. I think we got a taste of that today. He's actually a very talented player, just not easy to play dman on the Oilers & look good.

The more I see of Mike Sullivan, the more he reminds me of Mike Babcock.

Hockey weekends don't get much better! The Pens took down the two most hated rivals in their division, and did it by embarrassing both of them on the scoreboard. Beating Philly in their own building while they're scratching and clawing for every point is pretty great feeling.

They only allowed 17 SOG against the Philthies, and only 18 SOG against the Craps. Both of their fanbases are in mourning today

not sure about caps fans, but according to flyer fans, it wasn't the Pens beating them; it was the flyers giving the game away...I'm shocked! Shocked I tell ya!
