Sid is going through a bit of a goal scoring slump and I thought he phoned it in against the Rangers, but last night he was hustling, so there might be some hope.

Besides the above, I really noticed how the guys were hustling to get back and help on D when we turned over the puck. In years past they were far to casual about that.

Had to laugh when JVR had a wide open net and hit the crossbar.

Sid's scored seven goals and leads the league in points. :noidea:

On last night, I thought Ehrhoff and Bortuzzo were especially excellent. Ehrhoff was physical in his own end, and he was cutting loose that shot. Bortuzzo was what he normally is, but more effective than usual.

I agree, DS. Bortuzzo played much better than he did against the Rangers, when he looked mostly awful. Really hope Fleury is ready for the rematch tonight. I want this win badly

Bortuzzo played better last night, but has the tendency to get lost in the defensive zone. Will be nice to get Maata back soon. Borts isn't inspiring much confidence he anything more than a 6/7 defenseman.

Also, Bennett needs to play in the top six sooner rather than later. Just watching him compared to Comeau or Spaling and you can really see the difference between a top 9 forward, and a top 6.

Doob's take: Big game for the Pens, Rangers are the team that took us out in the playoffs and to make matters worse beat us 5-0 last time around. Don't want another team in the division to have a psychological edge over the Pens, so it's really important for the Pens to win this one. Doob picks the Pens to win 3-2.

LET'S GO PENS!

Not looking good, Pens giving up too much traffic in front of the net and too many penalties.

Glad we got the win and the 2 points, and I'm happy with the way we played, but I am beginning to wonder about this team. Rangers are 7-6-4 and they give us trouble. Maple Leafs lost 6-3 to the Sabres and they gave us trouble. If we have so much trouble against teams that are struggling, are we really as good as our record?t

Oh well, at least we went 2-1 this week.

Up next week,

Tuesday, November 18th: @ Montreal Canadiens
Friday, November 21st: vs New York Islanders
Saturday, November 22nd: @ New York Islanders

Will be a tough week.

IDK about the rest of you but I intend to attend church today. Doobster prayed hard for the Pens last night throughout the game, and I believe the good Lord answered the Doobster's prayers.

3rd star - Geno
2nd star - Doobster
1st star - God

I will try to remember to light a candle for them at church today.

Will pray for the Pens' power play, went 0 for 8 this week

Offense has been struggling recently.

Light one for Skid...actually, light a fire under his ass. Pointless again vs the Rags with 0 goals this month.

When was the last time you heard of a shoot out goal being disallowed? He clearly hit the puck twice, but wow!

I don't ever remember seeing one disallowed. I am glad the pens were the beneficiary of that review instead of losing that game. I bet the rangers locker room was pretty upset.

Really happy with how they played against NY. Lundqvist is a top three in the NHL. He definitely seems to give Crosby and the Pens a rough time of late. Other than the shootout one, Sid hasn't scored a goal on Henrik in 5 straight.
