Actually I’ll switch Top Gun with Tropic Thunder. Even through Cruise is only in it for like 5 mins it was the best 5 mins ever.

Mmm kay...
Oh I agree. Definitely career defining.
Cruise - All the Right Moves cause it was filmed in Johnstown, PA.
1. Tom Cruise - Tropic Thunder
2. George Clooney - The Men Who Stare at Goats
3. Matt Damon - Eurotrip
4. Bruce Willis - Look Who's Talking
5. Gene Hackman - Young Frankenstein
To fully appreciate that scene you need to see the original that it's based on, which IIRC is Bride of Frankenstein. (1935)I had NO idea that was Hackman in Young Frankenstein!!
One of the greatest cameos in cinematic history. This is an easy winner, no?
Awesome.Matt Damon's is easy.
Love that movie....Awesome.
The story of how they got to that whole gag I saw pretty as well.
They did not intend on making him “special”, but when his puppet was done, they hated it, because it made him look “special”. It was too late in production to have it remade, so they changed the character to the classic that it became.
What about Hackman in Crimson Tide? All good choices. However I have different choices.
Cruise - A Few Good Men. Perfect role to highlight his cockiness. Hon Mention - The Firm
Clooney - Out of Sight. The quintessential Clooney and Soderberg's first real great film. Hon mention - Michael Clayton
Damon - Good Will Hunting. The movie that vaulted him to the top still was his best performance. Hon Mention - The Martian
Willis - Die hard. One of the greatest action movies ever made. Hon men - Sixth Sense
Hackman - Hoosiers. So many great choices but he was tremendous in this role. Hon mention. Unforgiven
Men Who Stare at Goats is freaking awesome!1. Tom Cruise - Tropic Thunder
2. George Clooney - The Men Who Stare at Goats
3. Matt Damon - Eurotrip
4. Bruce Willis - Look Who's Talking
5. Gene Hackman - Young Frankenstein
Awesome.
