He's one of the few QB's in the NFL who isn't careless with his throws. If it's not there he'll throw it out of bounds and move onto the next play. I remember watching Brett Favre be as reckless of a passer as there ever has been in the history of the game. If it wasn't there he'd still try like hell to get the ball into his receiver. Sometimes he was lucky and there were other times where he'd get picked off by a defender.

You do realize the Chiefs basically run an air raid... right? And Mahomes did fine when he was under center with the Chiefs thus far... This is even more bizarre than your take with Mayfield.

That's why more and more offenses are geared towards the strengths of the QB. There was a vast number of QB's running the offense out of the shotgun. If that's what they feel most comfortable doing, OC's should stick to that.

Andy Reid and the rest of the coaches did wonders with Alex Smith when he was in KC. I just don't think Jay Gruden will get the same sort of production out of him but that's why we watch the games right?
