I'd be curious to see a segment on "Where are they now...LaFester Rhodes". I haven't heard that name - probably since his game against Iowa way back in the day. Maybe he is making a speaking tour across the state of Iowa about that day in ISU basketball history. Then again, maybe NOT!!

yeah JaMarcus Russell, what is it with our opponents and names? LaFester, JaMarcus...do they need a two letter intro? Anyway Russell came in and did well but they went through 3 QB's that day

I've finished no higher than 7th in a 10 team league each of the last 4 years. It's like the Madden Curse, if I pick you on my team you will suddenly suck, blow out your knee in week 2 or get suspended for drug usage.

This year Trent Richardson was my #1 pick. Need I say more?

Next year, let me help you as your co manager, I kick ass in FFL's without trying...no idea why, just happens. I didn't play this year but last year I was asked to fill in as the last team, didn't really want to play, drafted my team and left it, finished 3rd and didn't change my lineup all year. Didn't even look at it til week 14. At least you can end up .500...

Not much said lately. Other than LSU fans don't give a fuck and we've sold almost all of our 11k tickets.

Ticket sales indicate Hawkeye fan excitement - The Daily Iowan

Brian Broussard, the LSU assistant athletics director for ticket operations, said the school has sold approximately 6,000 tickets, with seating predominantly in the north end zone. Broussard said while sales for the past three bowl games LSU has participated in have been relatively good, he is unsure of whether the Tigers will sell out their tickets this year.

This sums it up fairly well.

I'm looking forward to this game!! I really want to see how Iowa's defense plays against LSU. The LSU WRs are good. Combined, both have gone over 2000 yards on the season with 18 TDs. The interesting point here is LSU will have a freshmen QB running the passing show. The other interesting point is the LSU RB Hill. Hill is a load to bring down as it is and is 5 pounds lighter than Morris (based on the rosters on the ESPN website).

I'm also anxious to see Iowa's offense in this game. The extra reps should pay dividends and produce solid results. LSUs defense gives up points, I'm just hoping Iowa puts TDs on the board over FGs.

so far, our defense on the field way too much and for some reason we have abandoned the run, line up behind that O line and go boys...ugh, this is going to get ugly soon if we can't get offensive traction

This game's not over! We're down by 14 at the half. Need to make adjustments and score on this first drive in the 3rd. Come on man!

Adjustments that need to be made:
1) production on offense - hasn't happened yet
2) get the defense off the field - hasn't happened enough given the struggles Iowa's offense is having
3) no turnovers - hasn't happened yet...lucky that Rudock didn't have 4 INTs in the first half
4) Desmond Powell is faster than anything that LSU has on defense - Rudock has to get him the ball...but the coaches need to call that play more!
5) Iowa's proud defense is getting tired. And it will be tough to stop LSU power rushing attack in the second half. The Freshman QB won't be asked to win this game with his arm in the second half because of the effective rushing game he's got. When called pass, it will be short easy routes that get a first down.

The worst possible half by Iowa on the season just took place. But LSU has a lot to do with how Iowa looked in that first half. To think Iowa isn't slow at every position on the field is foolish by any Iowa faithful. I was hoping for a knock-down drag-out game that Iowa won late in the 4th quarter today.

In all, this was a good season by this football team. The young guys go extra practice sessions. And this freshman LB for Iowa (#6) has a nice frame on him - probably starts next season replacing Hitchens.
