Hahn said today, that this isn't our last move.

Bruce and Carlos Gonzales have been swirling in trade rumors. People believe we could be potential suitors. Some believe it's either a left handed bat or a setup man. Personally, I think this lineup needs a damn jump start, in the worst way possible. If we're going to have any hope of regaining momentum.

I realize this type of a deal will likely not happen until the deadline. IMO, we could be a few games under .500 by this time next weekend.

I guess we'll see... Something needs to happen with the guys we have, and fast. Or else, we'll be on the selling end of things.

They definitely need a bat and a reliever. Abreu needs to figure his shit out. But they can be competitive. No one in the division is super terrific.

I'm starting to wonder about my cautious optimism. I get that when it's bad it looks like it will never be good again, and that's not really accurate, but my goodness. And Shields was a mistake, he's not the terrific young pitcher he was on the Rays anymore.

At least he's a lefty and they signed him for basically nothing. No risk possible reward. They have to try stuff. Shields was a mistake. But Gonzalez maybe will be ok as the 4th starter.

They need probably another bat and for sure a reliever. No one in that division is particularly good. Sox can (I didn't say will) compete.

Gonzalez has had a few good outings now. I can't say Shields is a mistake after one start, but I never did like the trade much. However, if Sale/Quintana can find their groove again, and Shields/Gonzalez can be reliable in the 3rd and 4th spots in the rotation. I still think this is a pretty good staff. Like you said, we CAN compete. We need to string a few wins together and get some confidence back. Would be nice to do so vs KC. Our bats need to wake the hell up, maybe Morneau can add a spark. We'll see... Provided we are competitive, I'd still like to see us make another addition or two.

Anyone think with the recent surge we've had, that perhaps we do wind up pursuing Bruce or Car-Go? I really think if we got one of those two, we would be in very good shape to make a strong run in the 2nd half.

Our lineup would look pretty damn nice...

5- Frazier

8- Morneau/Avi (platoon)
9- Navarro/Avila (platoon)
