The Blue Jays hired Eric Wedge to a role as player development advisor.

It has been rumored that Wedge would join the Jays in some capacity due to his close ties with Mark Shapiro and Ross Atkins. This move could put some pressure on acting manager John Gibbons, as some in the industry see Wedge as the manager-in-waiting.

Still hate they got rid of him. He showed so much patience for a guy who knew he was up the creek without a paddle. I like a coach taking on a challenge as opposed to a dude who takes a gold mine like Pat Gillick

#Brewers make another move for the future, trading LF Khris Davis for two young players, C Jake Nottingham and RHP Bubba Derby, both 20.

Davis a bit of a hacker, but I was kind of hoping M's would make a move on him. Still hold out slim hope they get Lucroy and use him as platoon 1B with Lind and split at catcher. Send them Montero and Peterson for Lucroy and Will Smith for the pen.

Went to the UNLV baseball game against West Virginia today. I didn't realize the kid of Greg Maddux, Chase Maddux, was on the team. He is a freshman and he pitched an inning or so in relief, he got the first 2 guys out he faced then gave up a monster homer off the scoreboard, then got slapped around a little before getting pulled. Looked like he had some solid off speed stuff, probably get better as he gets a little older.

Ya I saw this as well. Sucks because I like the guy even if he is on Boston. I read today it is a strained forearm, but that could mean 1 few days to a few months.
