Hopefully this happens on Saturday. It's about damn time.

Today and Friday should not be fun for the Mets, by the way. For Kershaw and Grienke reasons.

Dodgers rotation is now a certifiable mess. (Greinke baby mess)

No way, is Zach finally getting called up? Took them long enough.

Zach Lee can still get called up, even if Greinke starts Saturday. They might want to delay Anderson's start by a day, or skip it altogether.

Would be a perfect time to start him, the Mets are the worst hitting team in the league. At the very least they can try to get his value up.

Teams are smarter than to grade players based on one start.

That is true, but if he were to pitch well, teams might look at him a little closer and maybe show a little more interest!

The kid isn't ready

Not every rookie pitcher comes up and throws a good game his first start. We have had some lesser pitchers come up and look decent in their first start, one start is not a good indication of him being ready or not. Now if he pitches like that in his next couple of starts(whenever that might be) then he is not ready and maybe he never will be?

Anybody who says Lee sucks based off one game can fuck off. I said it.

The need for another pitcher is evident however.

Who said he sucks? But giving up seven runs and 11 hits in 4 2/3 innings in his first start isn't a great start.

Frankly I'm shocked you guys haven't tried to convince Cole Hamels to sign on for the stretch drive...unless the Phils are asking for too much in return....?

It's been too high for years.

Yeah, it's obvious that start was a disaster, but if it went the other way and he threw 7 scoreless innings it'd be equally unfair to expect him to keep doing that every time out.

Trying to look at this optimistically, he had a bright spot here or there later in the game. I think one inning was only 8 pitches? But, you're right that he probably isn't ready to be counted on as a solid rotation piece - even at the back end.

Also, in Zach's defense, that first inning was a comedy of dysfunction. Every stupid little squirter off the end of the bad made it through the infield. Every blooper dropped. Every borderline pitch was called a ball. It was just one of those moments where absolutely nothing wanted to go the way it should. The game just kept going that way for him. I was worried that Grandal was going to get himself thrown out for arguing the strike zone. Grandal saw how bad it was for Lee.

Anyways, Lee has been a Dodger prospect for approx. 30 years and yet he still isn't even 24 years old. We as Dodgers fans have been hearing his name for so damn long it's tempting to think that if he's not ready now, then he never will be. Maybe he'll be fine in his next start? We'll see.
