If you don't schedule worth a crap now, then you'll just go search out the shittiest P5 teams and schedule them.

Good points. Theoretically, there shouldn't be any shitty P5s to begin with. Realistically, there are and more than some wish to admit. Most of them are grandfathered in and no one will admit it. That said, they have no excuse for being as shitty as they are.

I heard a discussion the other day that made me think. The foundation of the discussion was that there really aren't but about 15-20 schools that have realistic shots at the National Championship EVERY year. Some may catch a miracle every now and then but can't sustain it.

I like those schools that have a "natural" P5 on the schedule, i.e. an in state team in a different conference. Iowa/Iowa State, Florida/FSU, USCe/Clem, and so on.

Although I suspect Baylor and TECH will start building rivalries with Wake Forest, Purdue, Vanderbilt, Maryland, Colorado, and Rutgers.

I'd like to see those two get back to playing A&M. They dislike the aggies more than the rusty cows do.

THIS ^^^^ Briles will still piss sitting down when it comes to OOC scheduling. He'll replace Incarnate Word and Liberty with the likes of CU, Indiana and Vanderbilt. Texas, we're set:

Ohio State, ND, USC, LSU, Michigan and then Arkansas, CAL, Maryland.....time for the pussy schools like BU to pick up their skirts and play some tough OOC games....

But, are schools like the ones you listed, tOSU, ND, USC, LSU, Michigan willing to schedule home and homes with the likes of Baylor, TCU, Tech, etc? I'm pretty sure the next tier like Arkie, Cal, Maryland would. But I've heard the "biggies" aren't willing to schedule home and home except with other biggies.
