I don't know. I know he's on the Lakers radar, I would take him. But the Lakers need to be careful, even though they have a lot of cap space, gotta think Summer of '15.

I agree. If he agrees to about $8-$9 mil, then do you turn him away if you're LA?

Nelson is 32, no way he gets 8-9 million per season. I say sign him to a 2 year deal worth 9-10 million and that would be a decent pickup.

I should've specified. I was referring to Thomas, not Nelson. If Nelson were to land in Miami, I'd say he deserved about $2.5-$3 mil.

Marc Stein just Tweeted, "24 HRS into free agency, LeBron has been quiet. Teams hoping to engage mostly unable. No doors closed but teams moving on"

I'd pass on Thomas.

Meeks got 3 years and 19 million, I think Nelson can get 2 years and 9-10 million, easily. He could get a little more.

I don't believe in signing RFA.....Too much of a waiting game and could eventually lead to you missing out on other free agents

Not me. If they can get him for $5-7/per, I'd say do it. However, it wouldn't kill me however to keep Farmar and Marshall, which may be the way it happens anyway. If Nash doesn't retire, they're gonna end up eating his salary. No way he steps on the floor this season.

Here is one recent article on what Gasol is up to these days. Apparently he and Pat Riley are chatting.

The three teams Gasol is talking with are the Heat, the Lakers, and the Knicks, not necessarily in that order.

It has to come down to the former two. Either win now, or stay in LA where you can help usher in the new era in Lakerland. I understand the connection to Phil and Fisher. But New York's a hot mess right now.

If I am the Heat and I cant get Lowry, i much rather go after Collison from the Clippers then Jameer Nelson. That way we have more $$ to get a BIG, which is much more needed.

Things with Gasol will speed up after the Lakers meet with Anthony tomorrow. If the Lakers can not secure Anthony's services or LBJ's for that matter, I see Gasol signing with the Heat. My sense is LBJ isn't going anywhere and neither is Anthony.

I think the Heat will get Gasol as their next big and Bosh could very well become a Laker although I think Bosh wants another ring quickly and will remain with the Heat. Thus in effect, Gasol will be taking Birdman's roster spot, not necessarily his role.
