Finally, Toffoli doesn't have that "perfect pass" attitude. Just shoot anything can happen.

Tough loss - goaltending has to be better, especially when you face two times less shots than the other team

If the Kings don't wake up SOON, they won't have to worry about being built for the playoffs.... because they won't be in them.

The Western Conf is far too stacked and they are already in danger of getting left in the dust in the Pacific Divison

On the bright side, at least they didn't let it get to OT or a SO.

Totally reminds me of the first half of 2011-12, hopefully a similar turnaround happens and we all know what happened that season.

Also is it just me or does Mitchell look like he's not as effective as before?

I'm not sure - I do think Willie is healthy and he is handling the workload so I guess that's a good sign - I think he'll be better as the season goes on

Puck, I think the major difference comparing the start of the 2011-12 season with the current season was the D & goaltending were in much better shape. Back then they were losing a lot of 1-0 or 2-1 games where Quick had to stand on his head just to keep them in the game. This season Quick has not been really stellar at all (example the fat rebound he left out for the game winner last night), and the defense is doing a poor job of clearing pucks out of the zone. I will give Mitchell some slack as I'm sure he's still getting his game back after not playing for so long. Matt Greene hasn't really looked the same since his back surgery. Voynov by all acounts didn't come into camp in good shape & it has shown. Doughty tries to do too much at times, or thinks he's Bobby Orr & will hold on to the puck for too long. Regehr really looks too slow, as his reaction time seams to be 2 seconds too slow. Muzzin, apparently is becoming the new Modry, as he turns the puck over or just has his shots blocked all the time.

Almost is getting to the point where Terry Murray needs to come back and put them through some drills on defensive zone coverage again.

Great observation, the Kings were much more solid that season than this even though they couldn't score into an empty net. My gist was there seemed to be things that were off, much like they are now.

Completely agree though, the defense is not doing its job and Quick does not look like he is playing up to par either. Hopefully both these things come around and soon, the WC is tough.

Murray is still connected to the Kings, wouldn't hurt to have him come in and revisit the Home Plate mantra he beat into them the first two years he was here.

Actually, Murray is the coach the Flyers AHL affiliate. He did stay in the Kings organization immediately following his dismissal as the Kings coach as a scout. Once the playoffs were completed in 2012 he was offered the coaching position with Philly's AHL team, and he's been there ever since.
