So it looks like Span has been the better part of that trade and thats not what i thought would happen when that trade went down.

That is the reason why i wanted to bring diaz in for a 4 out save. He blew Davis away. But nope.

Didn't watch the game but screw baseball nerds and their run differential

Quick and dirty:
M's survived another game without Cruz. Seager is kind of heating up. 5 hits in the last two games.

Good to see him making some contact and not striking out all the time ... definitely a plus

He's at his highest BA since like mid May. Heck of a slump he went through. Hopefully he can build on this. We all know he is a different hitter over the second half of the season. This would be a good time for that to start kicking in. They need his productivity.

Great win but starting to really get concerned about Nicasio and Colome and how they are used. Pazos has proven to be the second best reliever. You cant be using him to get one out in the 6th. Especially with no other lefties out there

From what I heard on the radio is Colome is still getting used to not closing, whatever that means. I thought he was struggling in that role in Tampa but don't really know. I really don't get the Nicassio over Pazos. I get he is a lefty and are stereotyped into specialists but just give him a chance much like Billy Wagner or Chapman (better pedigrees obviously), not like it is going to hurt anything. If he struggles as the set up guy you have two guys who are paid as set up guys. You can pull one set up guy if he is struggling in an outing for another one.

My main issue with the whole thing is Servais won’t change it. He’s stuck on this whole Player A gets the 7th, Player B gets the 8th, etc. All lineups are different and I think there are times when Pazos or even Vincent could be a better matchup. The inning shouldn’t be the deciding factor
