Yeah, we need to come to the realization that this team just isn’t very good.. Hope for them to turn this around is slowly fading.. We’re almost in August and they just keep spinning their tires …
That is the frustrating thing with this team. They have talent, at times they have looked like they could be one of the best AL teams, then other times they look like the A’s. I can’t see how they could possibly keep Servais after this year unless they get hot. An up and down season is on the manager. I know Ohtani is most likely a pipe dream but part of the pitch should be pick the manager.

Agreed! Been saying for a while now, had it been any other team, he would not have lasted this long, maybe seeing the end of his third season.

The fact that we have him for an EIGHTH season just shows how content the front office is with having a dumpster fire on the field every year.

Kelenic is still growing as a player, but the kid really shows he cares with every at bat and every play in the field. I could deal with a season like this much easier if everyone showed they just gave a shit like Kelenic does night after night. They just don’t have the right skipper, this is a culture thing IMO.
I don’t see Dipoto changing managers, he’s always praising Servais and just seems like no matter what Servais is his guy even if he ends up going down with him …

Ohtani is going to make bank somewhere and and probably win championships if he picks the correct team to sign with. He's not coming here, I don't think this is the destination for Japanese superstars anymore after Seattle wasted Ichiro's career and lets face it it is a dead end if you want a ring.

There is no way the Mariners could convince any player to come here to win a ring. When that happens you end up with a bunch of guys that aren't good enough to be on the benches of most MLB teams. Its no wonder this team can't string hits together and innings last 5 minutes.

If I was Ohtani and the Mariners called and said they wanted me and they wanted to win championships I would break a rib from laughing before i threw the phone out of the window. Nobody wants to come here unless they have something to prove before they move on to real teams.

I will raise my hand and admit I was wrong. But to be fair, his slumps were almost always right after his injuries. And that was the excuse “those in the know” said I parroted it.
That is why I think he is gun shy now. He pulls off and is behind pitches. I think the injuries have gotten into his head.

Just watched the 1st inning. This team has the most abominable swing and miss rate I have ever seen.

I am talking fast ball strikes over the plate and complete whiff on the swings.

bags packed and we leave them loaded ( plated a single run on a knock by Hernandez )

Ford - Raleigh and France strike out in the 1st. All with bags packed

I am not even sure any of them even made foul ball contact on their at bats.

No excuse for such poor baseball skills. We have a roster full of extreme subpar hitters and it's really starting to show.

Total embarrassing themselves.

Boo birds came out bottom of the 1st after France caught looking at strike 3 on the 3rd out of the inning.

You know, I honestly can't say I blame Kelenic for his reaction to all this.

Considering how they float around .500 (undeservingly), the definite case of SHIT OR GET OFF THE POT...
total laziness at the plate...
an organization that should be asking themselves how much they REALLY care about performance...
and the boo birds coming out en masse now...
it's time to start asking what the Real Master Plan is for these guys.

End of the 2nd inning

Mariners have made 6 outs - 5 of the 6 were via strikeout

Any body with just a shard of baseball IQ can see the problem we have here.

I do not care how good a teams pitching is ... they still need to have a near average MLB line up to be competitive.

We have a pretty good pitching staff and a near MLB worst offensive line up

Sewold said he had tears and was apologizing to everyone he spoke to.

Dumb ass kicked a cooler after he struck out in a big moment. Next time use a bat or kick something you can dent, not something solid. Learn from it.

It's just yet another self inflicted wound for a team that can't stop harming themselves.
