MLB 1977 Player Draft

Well ladies and gents we are getting ready to do our next draft after we have crowned a Champion in our current NBA Salary Cap Challenge.

So why 1977? Well, it was Bums who came up with the idea and what it means is you can draft any player you want but the player must have played in 1977.

At least 1 at bat for position players
At least 1/3 inning pitched for pitchers

We will be drafting
C - 1
1B - 1
2B - 1
SS - 1
3B - 1
LF - 1
CF - 1
RF - 1
DH - 1
BN - 6
SP - 5
BP - 5

Your bullpen can be 5 closers if you can find 5. If you would like to carry 11 pitchers you can cut your bench players from 6 to 5.

PLAYERS WILL JUDGED AS IF THEY ARE IN THEIR PRIME...

Remember your draft times each day but check in often if possible because we usually get way ahead of schedule.

I can't get in here... I'm just learning baseball, I couldn't even begin to imagine players who played that far back...

Stupid question...cue Ritz with the Cowboys joke....is it 1977-present, 1977 only, or someone who rook'd in 1965 but retired in 1978? I'm guessing it's option 1 or option 3

My understanding is that the player just had have played 1 season in 1977 to be eligible. Meaning a guy could have played from 1964-1979 and he qualifies. A guy could have played from 1977-1983 and he qualifies. As long as they played 1 season in 1977 they can be picked. Guys who played in year 19??-1976 don't qualify and guys drafted in 1978 don't qualify.

Is all of this correct Nos or all completely wrong?

So it doesn't matter when he played could have been 1963 - 1977 or 1977 - 1993
