This list is the teams who made it as an At-Large with 8 to 10 wins. There were 5 other teams that made it with 11-7 records, but I did not include them.

San Diego State (9-7) At-Large
Villanova (10-8) At-Large
Minnesota (8-10) At-Large
Boise State (9-7) At-Large
Illinois (8-10) At-Large

Minnesota is the only team I can find that made the tournament At Large with a .500 or worse conference record, but they had the 20 overall wins.

20 wins isn't a guarantee to get in, but it's a general benchmark.

Illinois and Minnesota both had disappointing seasons last year, but both managed a couple of quality wins which Iowa could not accomplish.

The difference is the quality of the wins.

BTW

Iowa (9-9)(25-13) lost to Baylor (9-9)(23-14) in the NIT championship game, so they were right on the edge of the bubble.

Michigan and Marquette were also both 20 win teams that were 9-9 a piece in Conference play

Fair enough. I see them.

I see nobody was less than .500 in conference.

So with 11 games remaining (regular season), Nebraska (2-5) needs to finish 7-4 to go 9-9.

If they only win the 7 they'll only have 17 'overall' wins. They'll need a couple of Big 10 Tourney wins still.

I do agree. I think we will need to win a couple in the tournament first, but I don't see that as being impossible.

I really see Nebraska moving up towards that 7th spot in the standings by the time the B1G tournament rolls around, giving us a favorable 1st round match up.

A lot of people are going to be surprised when Nebraska starts making a run here soon, because they see us down around Illinois and Penn State and they think we are bottom dwellers.

Only 1 team in the entire country has played more top 25 teams than Nebraska. Kansas is 4-4 against top 25 teams and Nebraska is 2-5 against top 25 teams. After that Arizona is impressive at 5-0 and then it just drops off from there with everyone else.

We have got to beat Indiana at home.

It's gonna be a damn shame if we don't do it.
