I don't follow the sport intensely other than just watching a few games so this has probably been addressed somewhere. Where will McCann play if and when he comes back? Gattis is ballin so I'd leave him in as long as possible. And with a healthy Freeman at 1st, does that mean McCann is at 3rd?

McCann should be back at the first of May and I'm sure will be the starting catcher, he's earned the right. Having said that, the Braves are going to have some tough decisions to make in the upcoming weeks. Beachy should be back around the All-Star break too. Embarrassment of riches my friend.

I thought I read somewhere before the season they were thinking about moving McCann out from the plate anyway. Something about his health and the wear and tear on catchers.

I assume Teheran goes back down when Beachy is back. The McCann/Freeman/Gattis question is a more interesting one. I had assumed that McCann would be behind the plate, but it's certainly possible that they're thinking of trying him elsewhere and I just hadn't heard. I'm no insider. :) Johnson has been hitting pretty well, too, though... As bamabear said, embarrassment of riches...

Ain't it nice not to have to rush these guys back? Let them heal up real well, get warmed up in the minors, and be rarin' to go by the time they entire the Braves lineup again.

Maybe they can just adopt the DH in the NL next week. Problem solved

lol that'd be nice.

I'd imagine Gattis will alternate every few days with McCann and Freeman at first. Either that or he'll do a lot of pinch hitting as well.
Idk if Laird goes down or what

Yup. Maybe he'll just retire and stay on as a coach.

Laird would have to clear waivers first before he can be sent down b/c the braves signed him to a major league contract. The Braves will end up losing Laird to another team if they put him on waivers

Word is that McCann may be traded, which I'm not so sure is a good idea.

Sure Gattis has been lights out, but it could be a fluke.

It would be nice to keep both, like the ole days of Damon Berryhill and Greg Olson.

I would play them both. Alternate to keep them fresh. These guys are going to go on streaks so when one guy starts slumping throw the other in.

I think Gattis will start at catcher 2 days a week and 1B one day a week gives 3 games a week for Gattis to get at bats. But ultimately i think we gotta trade Mccann at the deadline and get something in return for him.Cause I think hes gonna walk after the season
