I bet Sanchez will take a pay cut to stay.

Honestly this is more and more my guess. It is a win/win for both sides. Sanchez isn't going to get more than probably what we are going to offer on the market. He also isn't going to be with a team that he has a better shot at winning the starting gig right now. He knows the offense and knows the players and has 2 very young guys in front of him that could easily mess up letting him get another chance.

Things could get interesting in a hurry here. Vikings and Broncos in talks about a trade for Mark Sanchez.

Can we get Patterson from Minny for Sanchez + draft picks ?

One can dream. Would immediately upgrade our special teams.

Well things are heating up big time. Sounds like the Cowboys before the Bridgewater injury were talking with the Broncos but refused to take on Sanchez's salary. Now that the Vikings are in on possibly getting Sanchez the Cowboys cleared some cap space to possibly make room for someone. So we could possibly have a bidding war for Mark Sanchez. Who would have thought that 2 weeks ago?

Honestly if I were Dallas I'd rather sign Austin Davis and start the rookie until Romo is back which is gonna be awhile.

Minnesota. I'd be all over Sanchez. Right now Joel Stave would be their backup and that guy was a terrible college QB. Doesn't mean he can't develop but having Stave as Wisconsin's starter was scary enough, let alone one injury away from a starting NFL QB. YIKES!

I hate to say this, but as soon as Teddy Bridgewater's injury was reported this is where my mind went. I was driving home from work when the story broke and immediately thought, "Maybe they'd be interested in Sanchez."

From what I understand Minnesota has said they will take the entire salary on of Sanchez so just a matter of compensation between the two teams and if another team is maybe willing to offer more

A name I keep hearing for the Broncos if Sanchez is gone is Sean Renfree. Knows the system and has a pretty nice deep ball

I hope we trade Sanchez so we can figure out what we owe Philly. I still think if we trade him we owe Philly a 7th and if he starts a certain number of games it goes to a 5th which could be the case.

If that is the case , would make more sense to cut him, save the draft pick.

Looking over the wording at least according to website when the trade was made I don't think so.

The wording (and we would have to see the exact wording to be 100% so just going off what the terms reported by websites were)

It states that if Mark Sanchez is on the Broncos opening day roster the Eagles receive a 7th round pick. If he starts at least 4 games for Denver the Eagles receive a 6th round pick. By that verbiage if we trade Sanchez he is not on our roster nor can he start 4 games for us. There is nothing about a trade in the contract. It doen't say he has to be waived in order to get no compensation it just talks about "being on Denver's roster to start the season".

Here is the wording of the contract reported by Philadelphia newspaper who reported the trade.

If Mark Sanchez does not make the Broncos' roster, the Eagles get nothing. If he makes the roster, the Eagles are guaranteed at least a seventh round pick. If he starts four games, the Eagles get the Broncos' sixth round pick, which was previously acquired from the Titans.

I also checked the NFL draft order conditional picks of NFL.com and it has the same exact verbiage.

To the guy who had the famous appreciation thread all ready for him the day we acquired him.

We salute you for not costing us our beloved draft pick. :)

I feel like this thread really jinxed any chance he had. From day 1 he already had an appreciation thread. Still I appreciate his effort that he put forth it just wasn't meant to be.
