Swanson spent most of the season with an ERA below 1.00. But relievers are pretty volatile from year to year. Just look at Steckenrider from 21 to last year. Good move for Hernandez.

I agree, he was great during the year but hardly used in the playoffs which was a head scratcher. This move speaks loudly to why he wasn't used, just not sure why.

Sucks losing Swanson if Seattle doesn’t get lefty bullpen arm but you have to give this an A. You got Hernandez and didn’t have to give up Flexen

I like it - it's a step in the right direction.

And it lessens the chance Haniger comes crawling back for a deal after he discovers no other clubs are going to pay big money to a guy who regularly misses 1/3 of a season.

It's a good trade, if Teo doesn't get intimidated by our rather large ballpark like Winker did, and several acquisitions before him. So, I give the trade a B. We were already right-handed heavy in the middle of the lineup and now even moreso. Still need a lefty powerhitter.

Not a huge sample size but he hit .357 with three homers and seven doubles in 16 career games at T-Mobile Park.

One year rental unless they re-sign him, but the cost was worth it. If you don't trust a guy to pitch in the playoffs, then why have him around?

I read earlier in the week when rumors were flying about him coming here that he has one of the better hard hit rates in baseball. Strikes out a lot, but when hit it goes. Like it. Now go get Nimmo for LF and trade Flexen and ? for a stud 2B.

If we get Nimmo and trade for a stud 2B this team becomes really scary to play against.

I'd still rather go big on one of the FA SS's and shift JP over but your wish would be fine by me. Crazy to think we are only a piece or two away from really competing for a WS.

It takes ....a few..tears...to move forward..

It's Easter to build a bull pen than a world series..

And Jedi...is one of the best..at building a bull pen...

I hear but are there even left handed power bars available? With some of the new rules going into next year I am hoping the analytics people die off and don’t worry so much about power.
