I moved back in...lol. Nice win.

Santana not consistent, but clutch. I can live with that.

What is our record w/o Winker? Pretty good I am guessing.
Winker can sit for the rest of the season. I'm perfectly ok with an outfield of Haggerty, Julio and Haniger. Also can Servais please move Haggerty to leadoff? Frazier has no business batting first and quite frankly doesn't deserve it.

Great couple games vs the always hated Yankees.

Absolute dominant starting pitching - air tight lock down defense and fantastic relief pitching with some scattered base hits and a couple timely home runs = winning the closing series with NYY.

The Yankees might be thinking twice about facing the M's in the wild card series now :bounce:

First season series win by the M's against the Yankees since 2002 and they finished 4-2 this season against the bronx bombers.

Some teams you just are dialed into and others seem to own you no matter what you do. I'd rather face NY than Houston in the postseason, but then nothing is guaranteed either way.

Servais said Jrod hit the batting cage and had no issues so he is slated as good to go for Friday in the first game of the series against Texas.

Does Marco get the nod because of seniority or something? They need a lefty in the pen
Doesn't make much sense. Flexen has pitched well recently, while Marco's ERA has risen by almost a full run over the last month. I'd rather go with a 6 man rotation to lessen the load on Gilbert and Kirby. Gilbert has not been as effective going back for a little bit now and I'm still convinced the Mariners will shut Kirby down at some point.

This team has incredible fight in them. Cortez is absolutely dealing this year, and was perfect through 5. Found a way to get a lead. A great lineup took it back but Haniger is a stud and Santana is the added bat people wanted, he was just acquired weeks before anyone else had their eyes on him. Credit to Jerry on that one.

Holding the Yankees to 3 runs in 22 innings is pretty amazing stuff. Enjoy the ride.

Just went 7-7 through the gauntlet post all star break. You cant have asked for better than holding serve in that stretch, especially after going 1-3 in Houston to start it. Now it's time to win series after series and stay healthy.

Now we're adding Julio to the lineup just in time to face less than elite teams. It's a great time to be a Mariners fan.

Santana has had a number of really clutch ABs and I'd certainly rather see him at the plate than Kelenic in a high-leverage situation, but lets not pretend he's some inspired "find" by Jerry. He's got a 0.643 OPS and negative Offensive and Defensive WAR since joining the M's

He's won us at least 3 games. He's not here to carry the load, but to step in in certain spots and be a veteran hitter. Done that in spades so far.

We need Yanks to knock off Astros then we can play Yanks and have a chance. I know it is still a long way from us making the playoffs, but things could line up in our favor if the Baseball Gods give us a break. They owe us a break.

Same... I think Haggerty is a solid player... I would be ok if he just replaced D. moore as our Utility guy when Winker comes back...

Moore is currently the only SS backup on the big club. He was activated specifically to give JP a day off. I'm not a fan of Moore either, but he's not going anywhere. He's not going to be the one moved to make room for Jrod to come off IR tomorrow.
