And I could have put Johnny Mize at third base or been a pussy and used a DH to have both Mize and Thomas as starters and had a much stronger lineup for Georgia, but that's not how it works.

And it's where you're born that counts in this thread.

Henderson goes on the Illinois team.
That's kind of lame. The thread title is "from your home state" not "born in your home state". Carlton Fisk was born in Vermont because it was the closest hospital, but he lived in New Hampshire his whole life. I wasn't even born in this country, but I'm certainly from New Hampshire.

You've gotta do the correct positions. You've got either Ted or Barry in LF, Joe D in CF and you're gonna have to come up with a RF cause Ricky played LF too. Kinda cheap to try to make your 3 starting OFers out of 3 loeft fielders. I used correct positions, so should you.

And regardless, I'm taking Hank and Willie and Billy over anything you throw out there. Greatest CF ever and second greatest RF ever(second only to Maryland native, Babe Ruth) CA might have more depth, but the starting 3 goes to Bama in the OF. Plus there's two HOFers for the OF coming off the bench in Heinie Manush and Monte Irvin.

Kind of cheap to try to start 3 LFers IMO.

Other than the Babe...Barry and Ted are the greatest outfielders. Teddy Ballgame is the greatest hitter not named Babe Ruth. But he cheated so it doesn't count lol

Too lazy to do it right now, but NJ's players:

Players by birthplace: New Jersey Baseball Stats and Info | Baseball-Reference.com

Rotation looks pretty decent with Newcombe, Leiter, Messersmith, Downing, Hands and Gleason. Some really good hitters with Trout, Jeter, Billly Hamilton (1800s), Tiernan, Medwick, Goslin and Richardson. Even guys like Sean Casey, Joe Cunningham, Todd Frazier and Mark DeRosa had good careers.

I think there was an article showing the top states by WAR, but I can't find anything. Pretty sure PA was #1 though.

Don't know how I missed Sale. I would put him at #2 and drop either Gonzalez or Fernandez out of the rotation. Also add Wade Davis to the bullpen.

He's a Lakeland kid.

I've always wanted him to be home February - the end of March. Lol

Throw Hornsby at 3rd. You don't have a 3B and he did play nearly a full seasons worth of games there so.. it counts

Well if you use @calsnowskier rules, you could use Chipper at third since he has a ranch there now.
