the better pitching prospect at the moment

Shipley can't seem to pitch past 5 innings in minors. Might see Blair first, hopefully sometime after all star break

I don't know about that. Right now, Blair is pitching better & Shipley had a rough outing which drastically inflated his ERA.

Shipley has had 4 great starts, 3 terrible starts, a decent start, & one start in which he was pitching well but the game got postponed after 2 innings. If you take away his 2 terrible games, which account for 12 of his 19 earned runs, he has a 2,15 ERA.

Blair has shown he can pitch deeper into games. But the real difference is Blair's command of the strike zone.

Blair 14/41 BB/SO
Shipley 22/31 BB/SO

I imagine we will see Blair sometime after we trade some of the arms once Corbin & Arroyo are back. I could see Hellickson, Reed, & Perez all gone once the rotation gets healthy. They might just Use Blait in the BP for his taste of big league action. And then allow him to battle for a spot in the rotation during spring 2016.
