It all depends on if his recent drop in play is team related or not. His year 2 was amazing and he completed 67% of his passes. He has had a decline over the next 3 years. If he gets behind a very good oline I think you have a good chance of getting the elite version of Lamar.I hate this idea. After almost 5 years in the NFL, I still don't consider him a throwing QB first. He has way too many inconsistencies mechanically in the pocket.
The one plus is that the Lions O-Line would be a help when he deicides to run.

Lamar isn't a 50+M QB.
I'd much rather take the somewhat slower runner, ACL injured, almost identical type mechanically QB Hooker at a much cheaper salary and see how he develops.
Unless Lions add a lot of talent to the Defense they are still not contenders. With Lamar the Lions are SB contenders next year. With an injured rookie there’s no real winning on the horizon. We have players ready to win now.
I’m not even sure Stroud is an improvement on Goff. He definitely wouldn’t be next year. Their skill sets are pretty similar. With Lamar the Lions are SB contenders next year. With an injured rookie there’s no real winning on the horizon. We have players ready to win now.
So, we trade up to draft him then?He is out now. That dream didnt last long
