We are 4-6 in the last 10 games. That is not going to get us way above .500 for very long with any stroke of the imagination. I know Luke stated that he was not going to focus on the W-L column so much this year but it does get the fans going to see the Lakers have the potential to secure the 8th seed this year in a fight with Portland this early in the season.

IF (and that's a big if) the Lakers make the playoffs, Luke should be Coach of the Year. As it is, he may win it even if they don't.

I'd expect a lot more 4-6 type records over 10 game stretches as the season progresses though. Right now, they are still kind of sneaking up on teams. Teams are starting to figure out that, as Reggie Miller said, this year you have to actually beat the Lakers, they aren't laying down for anyone.

As the better teams figure this out, start fighting for playoff spots and the fatigue of a long 82 game season plays out (the Lakers are so young, many of them aren't used to this yet) the Lakers will start finding the wins a lot tougher to come by.

Having said that, it's very refreshing to actually have a team that is competitive and fun to watch again. There have already been at least 5 or 6 games that I would have turned off over the last couple of years because I knew it was over. This year, the Lakers are fighting back in those games and even winning some of them.

Indeed TJF12. A complete change of attitude and atmosphere over the last several seasons and certainly over the B. Scott tenure bad roster or not.

Yeah, and I'm not saying the Lakers making the playoffs is an absolute impossibility. Along with the coaching change, the adversity some of these young guys have been through over the past couple of seasons seems to have made them a bit more resilient.

As of now, my take is that the Lakers will eventually fade. However, if they are still hovering around .500 when we are about 60 games into the season. I may start to believe that the playoffs are possible.

I think it is a definite possibility because if they start to string together wins that gets us 5-8 wins above .500, then that process will become infectious. Right now, many are still learning how to do that and as Luke has stated, it begins with defense and the belief that those sorts of accomplishments are possible.

I hope you guys are not giving up hope on this team because if you are you shouldn't. Injuries are bad but there is a long way to go in this NBA season. Lakers at 100% is a tough team to beat.

No one is giving up. If we fans can make it through the Byron Scott years, we can make it through anything.

Not ever giving up. This team will be fine. Just having a bad rash of injuries.

Nope, not giving up. A run of injuries and the expected leveling off is all this is.

What is encouraging to me is that despite their recent losses, they are 10 and 14 with 16 games to go. To reach our expectations and the most likely the front office of 30 wins for the season - they need 5 more out of that 16 left. to be 15 an 25 half way through the season. I think there are enough mediocre teams to get that much, but they got to step up and find new ways to win. Other teams are preparing for them better now and won't be caught off guard as easily now

I told you guys we would win 35-38 games with an outside shot at 40-42 wins.

Lakers are in a free fall right now but a win could start the turn around. Get healthy and start winning!

Not worried. They are still playing hard and keeping a positive attitude. A stretch like this was inevitable, especially when you add in the injuries they've had.

I am just disappointed. I hope they turn it around. They had that win last night.

I don't really see a reason to be disappointed, at least nor overall. Seeing them have that game pretty much in the bag and pissing it away, is disappointing to be sure. But overall, they are about where I expected they'd be.

Look at it this way. If not for the 10-10 start, we'd all be talking about the progress they made and how much better they are than last year. The 10-10 was fools gold and this 1-10 record over the last 11 games, isn't who this team is either.

I think they will still get in the neighborhood of 30 or so wins and ultimately finish right about where we all thought they would.

I don't know how you can't see why a fan would be disappointed with 11-20 and 1-10 in December lol
